The drug "Lactusan", the instructions for use which introduces us to this tool, is a dietary supplement intended for the treatment of dysbiosis and belongs to the group of prebiotics. Representatives of this class of medicines have in their composition components that stimulate the development and nutrition of normal intestinal microflora.

Prebiotic "Lactusan", the instructions for which this drug is described, belongs to the group of biologically active additives that contribute to the normal metabolism of lipids. It is a mixture of mono- and polysaccharides isolated from whey. Its main active ingredient is lactulose and galactose, fructose and epilactose, as well as lactose. The drug can be purchased in pharmacies in the form of syrup or tablets.

Galactose, which is part of the drug, plays an important role in the synthesis of mucopolysaccharides and cerebrosides. These elements are part of the tissue membrane of the brain. That is why it is recommended that the use of biologically active additives "Lactusan" for children and patients with diabetes.

Lactulose stimulates the vital functions of the microflora of the human body. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that, without being absorbed into the bloodstream, it is utilized almost completely by lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, forcing them to secrete acetic and lactic acids. As a result of this process, the medium of the colon becomes acidic and unsuitable for the development of pathogenic microflora and rotting proteins. Thus, lactulose helps to neutralize toxins and acts as a "second liver". This element also helps transport fluid through the intestines and prevents its absorption into the bloodstream, increasing the volume of water three times.
