Cinematographers filming their works in the horror genre are increasingly turning to pseudo-documentary techniques. Debuting director John Eric Dowdle went the same way. So there was a film "Films from Pukikpsi".
Psychopath Report
The film "Films from Pukikpsi" for the most part consists precisely of shots of amateur photography.

These films (nearly 240 hours of recordings) meticulously record the "exploits" of the ruthless killer. This is a kind of diary, a report on the work done, a collection of disgusting and brutal ways to kill their own kind. It was these films from Pukiksi (Pukiksi - a provincial city in which the villain was operating) that became the subject of study by specialists and the geniuses of forensic science. They must find the culprit. However, there are no special clues in the terrifying records, the maniac was far from a fool. Rather, he wanted to boast of the deeds of his hands, and to be caught in the psychopath's plans was not included. In addition to demonstrating excerpts from the video diary, there are witnesses recorded by the FBI in the cinema. All this was shot in such a way that if a person didn’t know that he was watching the film “Films from Pukikpsi”, he could take him for a documentary project about the next serial killer.
On the amateur
You can be a fan of the paranormal phenomenon franchise or two parts of the horror almanac Z / L / O. And you can laugh at these films along with the creators of “The House with Paranormal Phenomena” by Marlon Wines or the 5th part of “A Very Scary Movie”.
One can rejoice at how pseudo-documentary effects amateur directors who use “trembling” cameras are appropriate to use, making the public forget that they have a work of art in front of them. And you can get annoyed by the same constantly moving camera and flickering on the screen. “Films from Pukikpsi” is a rather ambiguous sight, not so much because of the so-called “Mokeymentari”, but rather because of the frank sadism that shines through all the acts of a maniac carefully recorded on tapes. Of course, there are fans to savor the bloody details. They will be interested in the tape "Films from Pukikpsi", it will not be difficult to find a torrent.
In places disgusting
There are no other great artistic merits, except for pseudo-documentary tricks and flashy naturalism. Artists are completely unfamiliar. Installation in places is very ragged. The picture is unattractive. And you can tickle your nerves with the help of other films.
Hitchcock's works, for example, despite their advanced age, do not expire. The charisma of the creator is present in them, and the great Alfred did not remove random performers in his thrillers. A documentary about real maniacs like the notorious Tom Bundy or Andrei Chikatilo is much more interesting and scary than Films from Pukiksi. After this creation, Daudla wants to go wash her hands rather. The main thing is that the spectators should not have a persistent disgust for men (as in the episodic heroine of this picture, the wife of the FBI sheep Simon, who accidentally saw footage from the video clips of the maniac).
