The end of the fifties. 20th century. The recently created National American Academy of Recording notes the glaring fact of the predominance and increasing popularity of rock and roll. This modern Grammy Award has become more loyal: rappers, rockers, and performers of alternative music (God, what would Sinatra say !!!) can get it, but rock and rollers who were not liked by music academics were again left without a category.
History of the award and its names
Having come into the world in the form of the idea of the struggle “for true music” (the year was just 1958, when the world went crazy with magnificent skirts, hairstyles of “coc” and energetic “spinning” dances - that is, all the attributes of rock and roll), the award went to the anniversary. During this period, 80 years have passed since the invention of the gramophone.
And what can I think - a figurine in the form of a gilded gramophone, and the name to match is the Grammy Award. That sounds!
But to get it, the singers needed to sound themselves. And how to sound! Not only in terms of a famous name, but also in terms of undeniable talent.
There were not so many nominations in the early years - only 22, so it was very difficult to earn a Grammy award.
A Grammy is like an Oscar. Only in music
All the musicians of the world, nominated and not nominated for a Grammy, await the ceremony with special trepidation and impatience. Well, the nominees are understandable. There is no such nominee who would not dream of becoming a laureate.
And the rest - to assess the skill level of colleagues, to determine their strength: are there any chances to reach the same heights as how much you need to do, and are the peaks so high.
For citizens who are not involved in musical art, the Grammy Award ceremony is simply a sight to behold.
In its structure, script, invited guests, matches, venue of the Grammy, it reminds us of the famous Oscar, which was born thirty years earlier.
The same Los Angeles, the same scene, the same room, the same excitement before opening the envelope, the same sentimental speeches: "Thank God, my parents and my brilliant producer ..."

What is more important: music or dress?
This is a question of questions! A dilemma that the nominees (especially the nominees) and invitees cannot decide for themselves. The Grammy Award, like, in fact, any other event, always becomes an excellent occasion to showcase your updated and very expensive wardrobe.

Record winners
The youngest laureate of the prize in 1996 was the fourteen-year-old Lianne Rimes in the nomination "Best New Artist".
The group "Ice Zeppelin" was distinguished by the fact that she was awarded a Grammy 25 years after the breakup of the music team. The nomination in which the now scattered musicians were awarded was called "For Life Achievements".
A peculiar record of rebellion and obstinacy was shown by the Irish Sinead O'Connor. When the singer was presented in four nominations, she publicly stated that the Grammy Award is a destructive poppycock. And when in the end she still won in one of the categories and became officially recognized as the best performer of alternative music, she did not even appear to pick up the well-deserved award.
The absolute record holder for the Grammy was the blind performer Stevie Wonder - he earned all his 28 gramophone players the undoubted talent for singing and living.
Who won this year?
There are a lot of laureates to whom the main musical night of this year presented wings and figurines.
Among them are: James Napier, Miranda Lambert, Jack White, Kendrick Lamar and the vibrant Eminem and Rihanna.
But wider than everyone else, luck this year smiled on singer Beyonce, Sam Smith and Farrell Williams.
These three performers were nominated in six categories and took away the largest number of gramophone figurines from the ceremony.
But even among these three, the Academy of Music singled out the absolute champion. Four premium statuettes went to Sam Smith as the best new artist, as well as for the best recording, song and pop album of the year.
As always, the ceremony was not without famous guests: the most scandalous and one of the most talented performers, Madonna, presented her solo program to the court of colleagues and spectators, and Rihanna organized a trio with Paul McCartney and Kanye Wets.
