The recipe for veal with prunes is versatile. In the sense that it can be β€œturned” both ways, by adding various additional ingredients, experimenting with cooking methods. The main thing: to keep invariably two main ones - meat and prunes. Well, and, of course, each home cook has his own ideas on how to cook meatballs deliciously. Some, for example, do not tolerate when dried fruits come across in a dish, and some, on the contrary, like it, so here you have the basic recipe. Veal with prunes is very nutritious, and the meat comes out tasty and soft. True, a lot of time will be spent on cooking, but it's worth it.

Ingredients

To prepare the dish, we need: a kilo of soft and fresh veal, a glass of dried prune without seeds (or 200-250 grams), several medium-sized onions, a couple of carrots, a couple of garlic cloves, a little sugar (you can also replace it with natural or not) honey), vegetable oil for frying, spices (a set of herbs and pepper), salt.

Here is a truly unobtrusive and uncomplicated recipe for veal with prunes - it just requires a bit of patience from the home cook.

Instruction:

  1. Wash the meat and dry it (with a paper towel or towel). Cut into pieces - quite large. After that, spread the vegetable oil in a frying pan (by the way, it should be deep enough) and fry it β€œto the rouge”. We shift the semi-finished product into a clean container.
  2. We clean the vegetables, cut the carrots into rings, and garlic in circles. Onions in half rings or smaller - to whom you like. We spread these ingredients in a frying pan where the veal was cooked, and fry over low heat until golden, then we add salt and season with spices, if necessary, add a little water or broth.
  3. Then we send it to the pan and veal, pouring it with vegetables in water so that the liquid completely covers the mass. If you don’t have a suitable pan at hand, then you can put everything in a pan and continue cooking in it. Stew the dish under the lid on low heat for 30-40 minutes.
  4. After that we taste it, add salt or spices if necessary, add sugar to it. We spread the pre-washed prunes into the total mass, mix everything gently and simmer for another 20 minutes, until the dried fruits become completely soft.
  5. The dish is ready - remove from the heat and let stand a little. And then, you can serve to the table!

  1. In a bowl of the multicooker we drip vegetable oil. Warm up in frying mode. And enter the veal cut into pieces. Fry until lightly browned.
  2. Add the peeled and chopped onions, carrots, garlic to the meat, fry a little more, fill with water and turn on the stewing mode (the time is set automatically).
  3. Before the very end - in about 15 minutes - we introduce the prepared prunes, close the multicooker lid and finish the quenching.

And baking in the oven, this dish can also be cooked! To do this, take all the same ingredients in the same quantities. But we do this:

  • On a baking sheet greased with oil, we lay out the prepared veal (and to make it even softer - you can marinate it a little beforehand).
  • Cut vegetables and lay them on top.
  • Do not forget to pour half a glass of water on the baking sheet - otherwise the meat may burn.
  • We lay a container with meat in the oven, preheated to a temperature of 180-200 degrees.
  • We cook for about half an hour (then the fire can be tightened). We introduce prunes. Sprinkle with grated hard cheese on top.
  • Bake for another 15-20 minutes - until the cheese melts and forms a golden crust.
  • Turn off the fire and let a little sweat. After we take out the baking sheet, lay the veal with prunes in portions and serve. Bon appetit to everyone!
