Pancreatitis in children

Pancreatitis is a pancreatic disease that occurs as a result of tissue self-destruction when exposed to its lipolytic and activated proteolytic enzymes. These inflammatory changes in the pancreas are a response to necrosis of its tissue.

Pancreatitis in children, as in adults, is either acute or chronic. In addition, reactive pancreatitis is often diagnosed in children . It is a kind of reaction to any disease of the digestive system. The main difference from real pancreatitis is that there is a traceless disappearance of such a pancreas reaction after the cure of the underlying ailment.

A rather rare disease that occurs in all age groups without exception is acute pancreatitis in children. So, it can be detected in newborns with malformations of the pancreas. This type of pancreatitis develops when general and local reactions of the body occur in response to pathology from the pancreas as a result of exposure to its activated enzymes.

The disease is quite serious. That is why a very thorough reason to think about it is the abdominal pain in a child. After all, the most surprising is the fact that pancreatitis in children can appear almost out of the blue. So, any viral diseases (chickenpox, flu), damage to the pancreas itself, or the pathological location of certain internal organs can become the causes of the onset.

Recognizing pancreatitis is not so difficult. As a rule, the child complains of pain of a dull aching character in the upper abdomen. Often, unpleasant sensations can be accompanied by upset stools or vomiting. With a particular exacerbation, the best option is the hospitalization of the child, since it is the doctor who can significantly alleviate the suffering and prescribe the necessary course of treatment.

Chronic pancreatitis in children is a disease that should be constantly monitored by a doctor. It is best treated in resorts that are famous for mineral springs. Children suffering from this disease are required to adhere to a special diet. It is necessary to eat food only in pureed form and in small quantities.

Since pain is constantly disturbing, and rather tormenting, with this disease, the treatment of pancreatitis in children, first of all, involves the appointment of painkillers, which are administered as injections. After this, gradually after the improvement of the child's condition, a switch to tablets can be carried out.

Also, drugs are prescribed that reduce the secretion of the pancreas itself. And this as a result reduces the overall harmful effect on the state of the child's body. In addition, a general complex traditional treatment or physiotherapy exercises and so on can be prescribed.

With rare exacerbations of this ailment, phytotherapy for pancreatitis is performed as a seasonal anti-relapse treatment. As a rule, it should be carried out for 1.5 to 2 months twice a year. But if the pain is chronic, then such treatment is required almost constantly.

The main plants that are quite effective in the case of this disease are wormwood and sand immortelle. Helichrysum flowers are able to relieve inflammation of the gland (pancreas), gall bladder and liver. And also activate the secretory ability of the liver and pancreas.

The wormwood herb is used in the form of an alcohol tincture or a regular infusion. To do this, pour 1 tbsp. spoon this herb with a glass of hot enough water and bring it to a boil. Boil for three to four minutes, and insist another 45 minutes. Then you need to strain and take one or two tablespoons before meals for 15 minutes three times a day.

In chronic pancreatitis, such a tincture contributes to a significant reduction or disappearance of pain in the biliary tract and pancreas. In addition, digestive upset disappears, stool normalizes, and appetite improves significantly.
