  • drinking water (9 l);
  • sugar (1 kg).

Compote of hawthorn can be made by performing a number of the following steps.

  1. Preparation of apples. They need to be washed, spoiled places and stalks removed, then divided into segments, while cutting the inside with seeds.
  2. Training hawthorn. Remove the stalks from the fruits, wash and, if possible, divide in half.
  3. Syrup preparation. Boil water in a saucepan, add sugar and keep on fire for about 3 more minutes.
  4. The main work. Place apples and hawthorn in sterilized glass containers, pour hot syrup and clog the container.
  5. Put the cans with compote to cool, while they need to be turned on the lids.

Stewed hawthorn compote can also be prepared in another way, for this you need to peel and cut the fruits of this plant (500 g) into halves, then, having cleared the seeds, put them in a prepared glass container. Pour in pre-prepared syrup from water (1 l), citric acid (5 g) and sugar (400 g). Hold the jars in a water bath (approximately 85 Β° C) for about 30 minutes, then roll up the lids.

Jam is also good from hawthorn. A recipe is known from the fruits of this plant with apples, the main points of which are presented below.

  1. Peel apples and divide into slices, remove cotyledons.
  2. Hawthorn must be cleaned from seeds.
  3. Pour all the ingredients with sugar and let it brew until the juice is secreted, while the ratio of all components is 1: 1: 1.
  4. The jam cooking process consists of several stages. Initially, the mass is heated to a boil and cooked for about 5 minutes at low heat. After 8 hours, these steps are repeated, while the mass should acquire a viscosity and rich taste. The hot mass is laid out in a prepared container and clogged.
