Some actors work only on dubbing or dubbing. We do not see their faces, but we know perfectly by their voice. Boris Kutnevich is one of such actors. Its peculiarity is that he did not aspire to become a microphone; he is a sound engineer by training. Another interesting fact - we did not hear his real voice, as he voiced the famous Bear from the cartoon about the restless Masha. Almost nothing is known about him, since the actor prefers to remain in the shade.
How did Boris get into this project?
Initially, he was invited only as a sound engineer. It is not known how many projects Boris Kutnevich managed to accompany until 2009, but now he is participating in the largest animation project. The cartoon "Masha and the Bear" is broadcast in all countries of the world, and on YouTube every series has collected millions of views.
Boris is still responsible for the entire sound series of this cartoon, combining two posts.
Interestingly, the story about Masha is almost a family project. If it is necessary to introduce additional characters, most often the family members of the team of creators stand behind the microphone. Boris Kutnevich, for example, brought his children to the project. His son Mark regularly voices the Hare, and his daughter Catherine worked immediately on two characters - the Cat and the Mouse.
Participation in the choice of Masha
Boris Kutnevich, whose filmography is limited only to the sensational project, also helped to search for Masha’s “voice”. He wanted everything to be natural - the main character should have been voiced by a little girl, not a travesty actor or boy. They searched for a child by acquaintances.
Most of the project, his main character was Alina Kukushkina, who first recorded for blind listening, and then was chosen by the producers, as it turned out to be the best. At that time, the girl was only 6 years old, and she was very much like Masha, although she was not her prototype. According to Alina, the most difficult thing was to perform songs.
Alina's mother Irina took on the role of the Bear. Some time ago, the girl’s voice began to change dramatically, so Varvara Sarantseva from the Domisolka Theater was accepted as a blind audition in her place.
The best bear of all time
Boris Kutnevich fell into the role of the Bear by chance. Initially, he did not plan to become behind the microphone, but led the casting, to which professional actors were invited. The bear is a peculiar character; he never once uttered a single phrase. He only growls in a period of despair and hopelessness from the actions of Masha. Therefore, none of the actors could immediately cope with this role.
Then Boris Kutnevich, whose biography is unknown, began to show the invited actors how to growl correctly. This was noted by the creator of the project Oleg Kuzovkov, and he invited Boris to stand up for the microphone on his own and at the same time engage in sound accompaniment of the project. Colleagues note that Boris is very similar to his character. He is just as patient, never breaks down and is not nervous.
The actor himself compares his work on the cartoon with the game on the screen of Charlie Chaplin. The famous comedian also did not utter a single word, but at the same time he is still a legendary character in world culture. A bear is a characteristic character, which is very difficult to articulate correctly. Boris lost his seat at the microphone only once. During the dubbing of the New Year series “One, Two, Three! Shine Christmas tree!". The bear was voiced by Eduard Nazarov, who worked on the role of Santa Claus. It is not known for what reasons it happened.
In addition to the main Bear, Boris also played the roles of the Cave Bear, the Himalayan rival and the Tiger, the Robot in one of the last series. He also participated in both spin-offs, in which Masha tells scary stories and fairy tales in her own way.
