The melodrama "I Can't Say Goodbye" became one of the best films of 1982. She demonstrated that in any era there are real, sincere people who do good deeds from a big heart. For the actors who performed the main roles, this picture did not become another tick in the list of track records. Simplicity is the key to success
VGIK graduate, screenwriter Lilia Nemenova presented the script, and Boris Durov took charge of the production. In it you can see the way of the Soviet era, associated with the life of youth: Lida falls in love with Sergey, but, as often happens, the heart of a young handsome man is given to another. After the accident, the other one does not want to bind herself with the bonds of care and attention anymore. Lida claims to be this place, in the heart of which the little light is still preserved ...
The picture touches with music, atmosphere, truth. Perhaps the modern generation will not understand the past stereotypes that the tape is impregnated with: crime and showdown, but at the same time conscience, friendship, the ability to give oneself to one's beloved business and selflessly love. The audience was impressed by the beauty of student weddings, the image of village youth, dancing with dates, and the love story of ordinary heroes is shown truthfully and leisurely.
What happened?
Creating a picture, the director did not rely on her. How many melodramas are filmed in the country? And even more so, Boris Durov did not imagine what success his “ordinary story” would take. Actors could agree with similar. “I can’t say goodbye,” for almost everyone became the next stage of the career ladder. Released in cinemas in 1982, the film soon took over the box office with 34.6 million viewers. At this stage, Boris Durov and many actors personally felt his success, “I Can't Say Goodbye” for which served as a separate milestone in the filmography.
Love triangle
Most of the film is devoted to the thoughts of the main character Lida about the object of her dreams, the athlete Sergey. He preferred Martha, which did not diminish interest in him. The accident in the forest, in which Marta is partly to blame, marked all the edges of the love triangle: the girl is not able to be near him, but the faithful Lida is ready for anything.
Deep dramatic experiences were embodied on the screen by the actors. “I can’t say goodbye” - a film that allowed to show the talent of each of them: Sergey is upset by the incident, Lida - by his unrequited love. According to the audience, the performers of both main roles perfectly conveyed all the necessary emotions.
Primary and secondary actors "Can't say goodbye"
For Sergei Varchuk, the picture became a debut on the big screen. But before that, a native of Sverdlovsk dreamed of a naval school, but did not pass by sight. After serving in the army, he entered the Moscow Art Theater on the course of Oleg Efremov. For several years, Sergey played in various theaters.
The role of Sergey Vatagin, of course, served as a starting point for distant creative swimming. And successful. Russian directors immediately surrounded the young promising actor, offering their films. The debutant agreed to everything, honing his skills: “Secret walk”, “Moscow says”, “Experts led the investigation”, “Nicknamed the Beast”. In 1994, the actor participated in the film adaptation of “The Wizard of the Emerald City”, he gets the role of leader of the Warra monkeys. Three years later, he plays a small role of de Ribeirac in the historical novella “Countess de Monsoro”. In modern cinema, Sergey often gets roles in criminal projects. In 2013, he starred in “The Village”, based on the real events of the fall of 2010.
For Anastasia Ivanova, the role of Lida in love turned out to be the brightest in her entire future career. A graduate of the Moscow Art Theater, she worked in several theaters, including the production of the West Side Story Vladimir Theater. "I can not say goodbye," became a significant film for her. Unfortunately, after him there were no interesting offers. Her most famous paintings were “Sparrow on Ice”, where she appeared as a teacher of literature, and “The priest had a dog.”
Anastasia was married to Boris Nevzorov, whom she met on the set of "I Can't Say Goodbye." The actors did not begin to hide the relationship, soon their daughter Polina was born. She wanted to follow in the footsteps of her parents, but Boris dissuaded her. Polina learned to be a doctor.
A native of Riga, Tatyana Parkina graduated from VGIK in 1952. She tried to gain a foothold in Moscow, but was forced to return to her homeland. In the second half of the 70s, she again came to the capital, where to this day she works in various musical ensembles.
The actress played a few roles in the movie. In the first film, Citizens, she got the role of the wife of a young composer. Before “I can’t say goodbye,” were “Mimino,” “Red and Black,” “Poseidon is in a hurry to help.” Despite the prevailing stereotype of the negative heroine Martha, who abandons Sergei in need of help, Tatyana Parkina earned spectator love. After this picture, she starred in such films as “Dolphin's Scream”, “Lucky”, “Two Fates”.
