The modern viewer is used to watching only the best. Unfortunately, Russian cinema has lagged far behind foreign quality in quality recently. Of course, they don’t argue about tastes, but most films get justifiably low ratings. However, they still make good decent films in Russia. And some films that can be safely attributed to high-quality, it is worth listing.
"Friday"
If this is not the best Russian cinema, then at least one of those. The movie "Friday" has only one drawback - this is its poster. It is made in the style of such "comedies" as "Gorky", "Classmates", "What are the girls silent about," etc. The word is not without reason taken in quotation marks, since these films are not funny. Rather, sad. From the level on which humor is located there. And many connoisseurs of high-quality cinema at the sight of such a poster will not have very good associations, because of which they can refuse to watch. But in vain, since the film is worthy.
In “Friday”, which was released this year, 2016, Danila Kozlovsky, Nastasya Samburskaya, Pavel Derevyanko, Aristarch Venes, Katerina Spitsa and many other famous actors starred. The action takes place in a nightclub, but, despite this, alcohol does not play a separate role in comedy. Easy pleasant humor, excellent camera work, decent soundtrack, interesting plot - this film has everything, thanks to which the viewer will watch the movie in one breath.
"Duelist"
This novelty of 2016, many also designate as the best Russian cinema. And some said that “The Duelist” is the most intriguing film in recent times.
However, it turned out to be quite good. The genre goes back to novels of city secrets that were popular in the 19th century. The plot focuses on a retired officer with a complicated life story and a cold heart. However, in the course of the development of history, the latter is refuted. The only way for him to earn money is to kill the ordered personalities in a provoked duel.
There are, of course, some complaints. To an actress playing Marfa Tuchkov too unemotionally, for example. Speech and diction of some characters. But in general, few Russian films have flaws. The “Duelist” turned out to be quite good - without historical inaccuracies, with a dynamic plot. It’s unusual to see Peter Fedorov in the serious role of a duelist. Especially considering that he starred in Odnoklassniki.ru: Call Out Good Luck as a silly student-loser.
"Fool"
Talking about Russian films, one cannot but notice this social drama. She is little known, she has no multimillion fees. This is not the universally recognized best Russian cinema. Many have not even heard of such a film. Needless to say, "Fool" was given less than 20 sessions in cinemas.
And the film is really worthy. He demonstrates the indifference of the authorities to the problems of ordinary people. The plot focuses on Dmitry Nikitin, a plumber who was called to a dormitory in which a pipe broke. During the inspection of the building, the young man understands that it is in critical condition and is about to collapse. And residents do not suspect anything. And so the struggle of one little man for the public good begins. Throwing in search of help, an attempt to reach out to higher personalities, hard refusals, coldness, indifference - everything that is close to us is understandable and vital. And injustice. Plus, the cruelty of the people for whom all this was done. I don’t want to reveal the whole plot of the drama - you just need to watch it. Not without reason, after all, “Fool”, according to network critics, is on the list of “Highly Rated Russian Films”.
Other films worthy of attention
Of the new films, it is difficult to note something else worthy of attention. If we talk about the best Russian comedies, then it will definitely be films from Quartet I. The most famous is “What men are talking about” (the third part, by the way, is planned for 2017), “Radio Day” and “Election Day”.
Definitely worth a look at the crime drama "Home", released in 2011. With a budget of 130 million rubles, the fees amounted to only 4,500,000 rubles. Absolute unprofitability. But the film turned out to be atmospheric, beautiful in every sense of the word. And, most importantly, sincere. By the way, the drama of Vasily Sigarev “To Live” is similar in atmosphere with “Home”.
Good films are still being shot in Russia. And this cannot but rejoice. The most important thing is to watch them. Indeed, behind a not very attractive poster or the names of little-known actors, a cinematic masterpiece can be hidden.
