Series such as “The Mentalist” and “Castle” are loved by both viewers with plenty of free time and people who are sorely lacking. The former can afford to watch episode after episode, enjoying an interesting detective story and the relationship of the characters. The second can afford 40-45 minutes to watch the next series, each of which has a logical ending in the form of an open crime. Because of this, the viewer does not have a feeling of dissatisfaction, which often appears when the filmmakers finish the series at the most interesting moment.
What are the common features of the Castle and Mentalist TV shows? First of all, the format: one episode - one story, plus a common storyline. The genre is a detective story, where a lot of nuances are mixed - here there is a serious dramatic component, both comedic and romantic.
The second common feature is the relationship of the main characters. In Castle, Detective Kate has to put up with the tricks of a wealthy writer who suddenly wanted to collect material for a new book. In The Mentalist, Teresa Lisbon is trying to keep Patrick Jane, a police consultant, in decency.
There are many more series such as "The Mentalist" or "Castle". Here are the most popular ones.
"Fool me"
It can also be found under the name Theory of Lies. Dr. Lightman is a specialist in lie recognition. He and his team work on a variety of cases on behalf of the government, the FBI, or private individuals. Dr. Lightman can figure out the face of a terrorist where the bomb is hidden or determine which of the employees of the company is dishonest.
The series "Lie to Me" was closed in 2011 after the third season and will not continue, but it definitely deserves attention.
"Elementary"
Another version of the story of Sherlock Holmes and his faithful friend Watson in the modern world. Only in this interpretation is Dr. Watson the charming woman played by Lucy Lew. She looks after Sherlock (Johnny Lee Miller) as a curator of sobriety after his breakdown and long-term treatment in the clinic.
Joan Watson, hired by Holmes' father, should be with him constantly, and soon she becomes his partner in investigating the most mysterious crimes in New York.
In the spring of 2018, viewers will see season 6.
"Bones"
A series about forensic anthropologists and their assistance to the FBI in solving crimes. The main characters are Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth. Dr. Brennan is distinguished by an analytical mindset and a cold detachment towards people. Sometimes she allows herself direct statements, tactless and even rude. Seeley Booth is a typical FBI agent with high professionalism. But he has a more human character.
In 2016, the Russian version of the series "Bones" appeared. But the original audience is still rated much higher.
"The investigation of the body"
Dr. Megan Hunt devoted her whole life to medicine, but due to an accident she loses the opportunity to engage in neurosurgery and finds a job in the forensic center. Despite a divorce from her husband and a difficult relationship with her daughter, Megan helps to solve crimes.
Many series such as "The Mentalist" did not appear on this list, since they have very characteristic distinguishing features. For example, “Thinking like a criminal” is an excellent detective story, but at the same time it is quite difficult for impressionable people to watch, and the atmosphere is radically different from the almost comedic Castle. Or "Fringe", in which the relationship between the girl agent and the consultant is also played out, but at the same time, the film with each series goes further away from the detective and more and more resembles science fiction. This does not make them worse, they are just slightly different, and this should be taken into account when choosing a series.
