Biography
Mark Minkov was born in Moscow on November 25, 1944. His parents are Anatoly Evseevich and Faina Mikhailovna. The birth of a child, according to the memories of his mother, coincided with a salute in honor of the liberation of one of the cities by Soviet troops. Mark loved to sing from early childhood. Initially, the grandmother was engaged in the musical education of the boy.
He was presented with a piano at about five years old. He undertook to compose music, although he did not know the notes and recorded the works with icons that he himself had invented. At age 6, his education began. He was sent to a music school. The teacher realized that the boy would not be a pianist giving concerts. The composition was not taught at school.
The young man was also interested in creativity, not repetition of scales. As a result, he left school and began to study music with teachers at home. Then he entered a music school at the Moscow Conservatory - immediately in grade 3. There he studied composition. Mark's teachers were Alexander Pirumov and Nikolai Sidelnikov.
In 1960, he became a student at a music school at the conservatory. In parallel, he continued to study art with Sidelnikov. The future composer graduated from college in 1964. He continued his education at the conservatory, in the class of Aram Khachaturian.
Creation
In the first two years of training, Mark Minkov created vocal cycles based on poems by Alexander Blok and Robert Burns. The “farce”, which consists of 6 romances, subsequently became a mandatory program performed at Glinka's contests. The work “Verbochka” sounded at concerts by I. S. Kozlovsky. In the nineties, Kristina Orbakaite made a pop song from this romance.
The musician graduated from the conservatory in 1969. After that, he applied for entry into the Union of Composers. A year later he was accepted. According to the necessary procedure, he performed a number of his works, and made this so that Vano Muradeli kissed the young man in admiration. In 1970, he received an invitation to create music for the film "Investigators Are Conducting Investigations."
Mark composed the main melody unusually quickly, so he hesitated before reporting it to television. The song, which was based on the words of Anatoly Gorokhov, fell in love and was remembered by the audience. This composition turned into an informal anthem of the police.
In the early seventies, the composer created a vocal cycle called “Crying Guitars”, based on poems by Federico Garcia Lorca. The performer of this work was Zara Dolukhanova. In several Tchaikovsky competitions, this cycle was part of the compulsory vocal program. Soon the satirist V. Polyakov introduced Mark to Natalia Sats.
After listening to the author’s works, she invited him to write a children's New Year’s opera for her theater. In a short time, the composer creates the work "Magic Music, or Let's Make an Opera." This performance was successfully held for many years on New Year trees. In 1982, this work was awarded the Grand Prix in the framework of the Festival of Musical Theaters, held in Hamburg.
In 1975, Minkov created the oratorio Bell. The series "Investigators are leading the investigation" was incredibly successful. After its release on the screens, Mark began to receive many proposals for writing music for performances and films. Minkov proposed creating a composition for Alla Pugacheva. Their collaboration has become fruitful.
From the music created for the play, which took place at the Central Children's Theater, a song was born called "These Summer Rains." It was based on the verses of Kirsanov. This work gained particular fame in the performance of Pugacheva.
