pharmachologic effect
Sinecode, the instruction for use of which is presented below, is an antitussive non-narcotic pharmaceutical agent of direct action. The synecode contains the substance butamirate. This drug has a blocking effect on the cough center located in the medulla oblongata. At the same time, as the annotation emphasizes, the synecode does not act depressingly on respiratory functions.
In addition to the antitussive effect, the synecode also has a bronchodilator and some anti-inflammatory effects. The drug significantly improves blood oxygenation and spirometry. When taken orally, the drug is rapidly absorbed by the intestinal mucosa. Butamirate is characterized by a high degree of association with plasma protein substances. The highest concentration of synecode in blood plasma is observed within one and a half hours after administration. In the body, the metabolism of the drug leads to the formation of pharmacologically active metabolites. Hydrolysis of the synecode is carried out in the blood. The resulting metabolites are similar to butamirate in pharmacological activity.
The drug does not accumulate in the body, repeated use of the drug does not change the pharmacokinetics. The half-life of the synecode is 6 hours. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys in the form of metabolites or unchanged.
Indications for use
The synecode is used for the manifestation of a debilitating, unproductive cough of various origins, including dry, debilitating cough during whooping cough, smokers' cough, dry cough with respiratory tract lesions.
