Pea soup without meat, the recipe for the preparation of which, and more than one, we will consider later in our article, can be no worse than its classic counterpart, cooked according to all the canons of the genre, on fragrant smoked ribs. Of course, as they say, you can’t fool the stomach with grass, nevertheless, but who said that peas would be lonely swimming in hot water in such a dish? Not at all. There are many recipes for preparing lean (and not so) pea soups, they contain a wide variety of ingredients, in addition, some may cook them without meat, not because they observe fasting or are convinced vegetarians, but simply because of the lack thereof. Well, it doesn’t matter. You can cook pea soup with sausage - also a good dish will turn out, by and large. Or with mushrooms. However, why lead unnecessary talk? Better go to practice. So we start to cook. So, pea soup without meat. The first recipe.
Easiest option
If we decide to refuse meat, this does not mean at all that we will make our dish simply on the water. Not at all. We will cook our pea soup on the broth. Only on the vegetable. And for its preparation, we put two carrots, one onion, juicy tomato, herbs, garlic, and favorite spices, cut into large pieces in boiling water. And in another saucepan at this time, cook peas. By the way, so that the process goes faster, many housewives soak it in advance. Who at all for the night, and who at least for a couple of hours. So, the vegetable broth will be prepared in about thirty minutes, with regard to peas, then here you will have to follow it yourself. The main thing is when you see that it is almost ready, you need to combine it with the broth, having previously removed the vegetables from the last, and add three or four finely chopped potatoes. About 15 minutes before cooking, you need to add the frying into the soup (grated carrot + chopped onion, fried in oil). And when the time comes to turn off the fire under the pan, you need to add some very finely chopped cloves of garlic to our simple pea soup and cover the dishes with a lid. Let it brew. Cooking soup with vegetables
To do this, you need to arm yourself with a glass of peas, two potatoes, one carrot, onion, a few tablespoons of sour cream, butter (you need 50 grams, not more), cauliflower (300 grams will be enough). Plus prepare spices, favorite herbs.
As we already mentioned, before cooking pea soup, so that the main ingredient boils faster, you must first soak it. Which we did. And now it remains only to drain water from it, rinse, and then put to cook. We prepare vegetables. We cut carrots, onions, potatoes, we sort cabbage into (it’s our color) inflorescences. When we see that the peas are almost ready, add to it all our mixed vegetables and butter. Plus spices. Cook until tender. Before serving, season with sour cream.
Peas and cheese - a great combination
The ingredients for this soup are almost the same as in the previous version, we just exclude sour cream and cauliflower, but add dried celery and a gram of one hundred cheese, and certainly smoked. The very popular now-pigtail cheese is best suited for these purposes. Cooking is exactly the same. And at the very end we add spices, celery and a “pigtail”. Attention: it is not recommended to salt in the cooking process, because the cheese itself will give the required taste to the soup. And if someone thinks that there is little salt, you can add the right amount of “white death” directly to your own plate.
Pea Puree Soup
Recipes for making mashed soups from a variety of ingredients are extremely popular today. The hero of our review, peas, was no exception. By the way, by and large, all soups from it are prepared almost the same, as you may have noticed. The only difference is in the components. The same can be said about such a dish as pea soup puree. Recipes for its preparation do not shine with a special variety, but the main difference from ordinary pea soup is that at the end of cooking all the ingredients are grinded with a blender. However, if you take potatoes of the corresponding variety, which falls apart in the blink of an eye, and even cook peas to a state of porridge, then no newfangled devices will be needed. It is quite possible to do with a spoon, turning it already ready soup into this most desired mashed potatoes.
So, perhaps, we will not focus on the ingredients and the process of preparation itself, but just give advice. If you want mashed soup - choose any recipe you like, cook pea soup, and then either send it to the combine or stir it with a blender.

Pea soup with sausage
Sausage, of course, is not meat, but not cauliflower. So those who almost with disgust ran the eyes of the previous recipes can come to life. The dish promises to be tasty and, of course, no longer dietary. But those who have already rushed frantically to count calories can also relax. Let, of course, they have to taste the “unwholesome” sausage, but with it peas, which have long been considered a valuable source of much-needed plant protein, will fall into their stomachs. So, as they say, with one blow we kill two birds with one stone - and we will please ourselves, our beloved, and we will benefit.
Ingredients
To prepare such a soup, you will need:
- A glass and a half of dry peas.
- Grams of three hundred smoked (required!) Sausages.
- Two sweet red peppers (color - more for contrast with peas, most likely).
- Seasonings (choose yourself).
How to cook
We will cook peas in the same way as in the previous cases.
You can’t imagine anything new here. As for the remaining ingredients, they should be fried in the following order: first chopped onion, then grated carrot is added to it, then the chopped main product is sausage, and then pepper. All this assortment must be put out on a very small (and certainly under the lid) fire for about ten minutes. Well, then add to the peas, season with spices. Salting is again not recommended, sausage, as in the case of cheese, contains this ingredient in sufficient quantities.
By the way, instead of smoked sausages, you can take boiled. It will also work out quite well. Or, for example, the same sausages. What is more relevant if the soup is prepared with the expectation that children will eat it. Only sausages choose necessarily high-quality. Do not add to the dish what is left after the holiday. Well, the rest of the field of activity for experiments is quite extensive. In the end, we want to offer another rather interesting option.
Peas with mushrooms
As you may have noticed, still a very democratic dish - pea soup without meat. The recipe for its preparation allows you to interchange the components in the way the hostess likes. So we suggest adding mushrooms to it. They may well replace the meat, and the dish, due to their introduction, will not only acquire a really amazing taste, but will also support the organism that is exhausted, say, by fasting.
As for mushrooms, you can take any, even the same mushrooms. But it is best to use dried. And preferably white. Firstly, they will give an amazing aroma, and secondly, their taste is already very good.
As for cooking, everything is similar to the process that was described in the simplest version of pea soup. The only thing you should pay attention to is that if you took dry mushrooms, then they also need to be soaked. Then rinse, cut and cook not separately, but always with peas. If you have simple mushrooms, then you need to cook them first, and then fry them with vegetables. That's all wisdom.
And finally
Naturally, many would like to know how pea soup will affect the state of their figure. Calories in it, by and large, there is no special need. The nutritional value of any dish, as you know, is completely dependent on the incoming ingredients. Our soup is no exception. And as for its simplest option, you can absorb such a meal calmly, without looking back at the scales. In one serving of this soup there will be only 87 kcal. Unless, of course, your plates for the first courses are not very deep. However, with such a low calorie content, you can eat a couple of servings. There will definitely be no harm.
