Love Slave: Actors and Roles

The picture "Slave of Love" was the first film by Nikita Mikhalkov, shown abroad and received international recognition. At home, the second film by Nikita Sergeyevich was named the best among the works of young filmmakers at the Mosfilm film studio in 1976. In Tehran, the film was awarded the “Golden Tour Plate” for directing, and in France the film was awarded a special prize by the jury of the international Young Film Festival held annually in Hyeres.

The special atmosphere of Mikhalkov’s films

Mikhalkov came to the picture already begun by the production, into someone else's project, with a completely different idea - the film was conceived as a comedy with a detective background. All the works of this author are very faithfully designed stylistically, and it’s not only the costumes and scenery - the very appearance of the actors sends the audience in those days. After all, Elena Solovey played beautifully and modern women, but the diva Olga Nikolaevna Voznesenskaya, performed by the actress, as if transferred from "silent cinema".

Actor Konstantin Grigoryev

I would like to single out Konstantin Grigoriev from the collective of the film “Slave of Love”. Actors and colleagues not only in this film (in the 80s, Grigoriev was not just popular - he was one of the most sought-after performers) evaluate the talent of this person very highly. He was gifted versatilely, and at the peak of fame a tragedy occurred - as a result of a serious injury received in a restaurant, Konstantin Grigoryev became disabled and died in poverty.

In the picture of Mikhalkov, he amazingly played the role of Captain Fedotov, the head of counterintelligence, a disgusting villain, who, in his free time from torture, dragged around actress Olga Voznesenskaya.

There are no passing roles in Mikhalkov’s films

Alexander Kolyagin does not know how to play badly, and in Nikita Sergeyevich’s films he is simply brilliant - both in the role of the landowner Platonov and in the role of the director A. A. Kolyagin, who shot the film “Slave of Love” in the White Guard south.

The actors and roles played by them in this film were very familiar to the Soviet audience of the late 70s, because, as noted above, each film by Nikita Mikhalkov was an event and did not leave anyone indifferent. And the spiteful critters were already suffocating.

Yuri Bogatyrev from the very first work of Nikita Sergeevich was, as they say, his actor. Actually, the unknown Bogatyrev became a "star" after the tape "One among strangers, a stranger among his own." He is remarkable in the role of the spoiled actor No. 1 of “silent cinema” Vladimir Maksakov. And how good he is in Rodn!

Radion Nakhapetov, famous in those years, played very well the cameraman Viktor Pototsky, who, being a Bolshevik underground and being on a “mission,” does not remain indifferent to Olga Voznesenskaya. Oleg Basilashvili is very good as a producer of the film “Slave of Love”. The actors and the roles that they played liked the fact that real people lived on the screen, each with their own problems, in general, understandable to absolutely all viewers.

Director from god

The film, which rose to a high level of tragedy (the last shots of the death of Olga Voznesenskaya are simply shocking), triumphantly passed through the country's screens. He was watched several times and quoted. And this is all the more encouraging because the film was considered "aesthetic", that is, "not for everyone." Another interesting fact is that it was shot in record time (three weeks) and for quite “ridiculous” money, because the lion's share of the funds allocated to the picture was already spent by the previous film crew.

Constellation of russian actors

Actors did a lot to make the picture a success. The “slave of love” is the result of collective labor. Vera Kuznetsova and Inna Ulyanova, Gottlieb Roninson and Nikolai Pastukhov, Eugene Steblov, Alexander Adabashyan and Boris Galkin - who did not know and did not like these wonderful actors in the country. All those who worked on the film made it a masterpiece, and Slave of Love added fame and popularity to its creators. All episodic roles were played at a high professional level.

Other creators of the picture

It has already been noted that the 30-year-old Nikita Mikhalkov did not start the picture from scratch, but replaced Rustam Khamdamov in his work on the tape with the name “Unexpected joys”. The script was written by Friedrich Gorenstein and Andrei Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky. The film “Slave of Love”, whose actors and roles are inextricably linked by the popularity that came after the first days of rental, will not leave anyone indifferent.

From the collective of actors involved in the filming of "Unexpected joys", there was only one Elena Solovey, who also played the role of Olga Voznesenskaya. The music for the film was written by Eduard Artemyev, the words for poems and songs that sounded in the film were Natalya Konchalovskaya.
