Of course, the film does not provide an idea of ​​the true situation of the main part of the population, but it introduces the aesthetics of that time and what was then considered ridiculous, because the genre of this work is comedy.
General goes into politics
So, the general decided to go into politics. Everyone around him warns the straightforward warrior that this is a dirty business; with frontal attacks, success in it is difficult and even impossible. But the main character does not listen to anyone and even accepts the challenge of a boxing match thrown by a confidant of one of the contenders in the upcoming elections. No, they don’t compete in the ring. The unlucky duelist gets a blow in the forehead right in the television studio, which causes the audience to laugh and the host’s gentle smile.
The peculiarities of national policy perplex the foreign correspondent, although he is more upset by the loss of his personal car, which was blown up along with the jeep of the candidate from whom he is interviewing.
Side line
To make the movie funnier, a side storyline has been added that describes the misadventures of the characters who tried the mysterious emerald-colored aphrodisiac brought by huntsman Kuzmich in a huge bottle. These events have nothing to do with the main narrative, but they revive it.
Who is smarter?
The antagonists in the film "Features of National Politics" are insidious, cunning, but they are operated by extremely narrow-minded agents, subtly reminiscent of the gangsters from the cartoon about Captain Vrungel. Their intentions are the most serious, in addition to the aforementioned car explosion, they also shoot point-blank at the general directly in the chest. The scene would not be very funny, but the candidate is saved by a flask happily presented by Kuzmich.
However, the team of a good hero is also no special mind, but the stupidity of its participants is very helpful. So, Kuzmich, having drunk a little, eats a flower, in which are hidden special equipment designed for secret surveillance and eavesdropping. The mafia’s money in two boxes from Xeroxes (there was also a story) because of sloppiness do not turn out to be a lie against the general, but with his help to a poor university.

The metamorphosis that happened with the tastes of the main characters regarding drinks is also interesting. Instead of the vodka that was used in large quantities in the previous three series, the heroes of the film “Features of National Politics” drink wine that seems to be dry, bottled in beautiful bottles. The reason for the change in preferences is explained all the same by Kuzmich: it, they say, sharpens the mind.

In the plot there are representatives of the main players in the political arena of the 90s, that is, bandits, FSB, oligarchs and communists. The main idea of ​​the motion picture is the huge moral superiority of a straightforward and honest military man over all these cunning and villains.
