Dry scalp: treatment.

Dry scalp, prone to dandruff, can be a problem not only in adolescence, contrary to popular belief. Often this happens for both 30-year-olds and those over 40.

The main causes of dry scalp:

  • malnutrition, lifestyle
  • chronic diseases, for example, seborrhea
  • an excess of care products, their improper selection
  • lack of moisture

Accordingly, in order to get rid of this problem, it is necessary to eliminate the causes - check whether you are eating right, whether you are eating too much fatty, smoked, sweet, and also alcohol. Because of this, there may be dry scalp, and acne, and cellulite with extra pounds.

The hair products you use should be for one type of hair: you can’t expect a good result using shampoo for oily hair, and conditioner for dry hair . There should not be a lot of funds, do not try to feed your hair with everything that is possible. Try to use natural shampoos or products without strong aromatic fragrances. By the way, often dandruff shampoos only add problems, so get a pharmacy or just a milder look.

Go to a dermatologist or trichologist (hair specialist). Let him examine your skin, prescribe the necessary tests and determine the problem - whether it is a disease, or simply a malfunction due to improperly selected shampoo. In the summer, protect hair and skin - with special means, wear hats. Dry and warm air is usually in the apartment in the summertime - this can also become the reason why the dry scalp becomes drier. Buy a humidifier or place water containers around the house.

Dry scalp. Treatment.

The first and most important thing is that you don’t have to deal with the problem in too aggressive ways, to buy potent drugs, if you do not know exactly what you are dealing with. Before visiting a doctor, you can try masks prepared by yourself - for example,

- masks based on olive or other oil - it can be castor, burdock, peach oil. It is necessary to apply a little slightly warmed oil on the hair roots and skin and make a light massage, and then leave the oil for an hour or two, then rinse. Do not worry, the oil is washed off perfectly and the hair will not be greasy and glossy.

When you wash off, pay attention to the water: it should be warm, not hot. Ideally, you should wash your hair with boiled water or a decoction of healthy herbs, especially if the water in your area is too hard. But it may seem a little tedious.

- masks from onions. To do this, grind the onion in a blender (if you do not have a blender, just grate it), and rub the resulting slurry into the scalp. To enhance the effect, you can wrap the head with cling film and leave the mask for an hour or two. Usually dry scalp responds well to this mask.

-nourishing masks. For example, honey. Honey can be applied to the hair and scalp both separately and as part of other masks - mixed with oils or with onions. Masks made of raw egg yolks are also good for this type of skin - they will need to be mixed well and rubbed into the scalp. Yolks go well with both honey and oils.

If you do not like the smell left on your hair (from onions or eggs), you can wash your hair with water and lemon juice - the juice of half a lemon and a half liters of cool water. Practice shows that the smell will only be present on wet hair, if at all, and will disappear in a few days.

If you have very dry scalp and the proposed masks have not resolved the problem, perhaps dryness is a sign of some kind of disease and you need to try more serious ways to deal with dandruff, itching and irritation that appear due to dryness. Consult a doctor, do not tighten.
