White rice, from which we are used to cooking, is boiled for about 15-20 minutes, brown rice is cooked for 45-50 minutes. There is still wild rice. It is rarely prepared, but the dishes from it are no less tasty and healthy. Cooking wild rice takes at least an hour. Regardless of the variety, when cooking, you must adhere to several rules.

Before you put the boil rice, it must be thoroughly washed in running water. Experienced cooks recommend washing the raw product in hot water (50-70 ° C). Water is poured at the rate of 1 part of rice and 2-3 parts of water. The cereal is poured into boiling water, which must first be salted. As soon as the water boils again, the fire is reduced and rice is continued to boil, periodically gently stirring so as not to break the grains.

Depending on what result you want to get, how much you need to cook rice. If you want to get a gentle friable product, then the cooking time of white rice will be about a quarter of an hour. If you cook sushi and the rice should be more sticky, then after the cooking time has passed, it must be left in hot water for another half hour.

How much to cook rice so that all the grains are evenly cooked? The main thing here is not so much the cooking time as the dishes in which it is cooked. It is better to cook it in a flat dish: a pan or a wide pan is necessarily under the lid. In this case, the rice is evenly heated and cooked.

Water is poured into the pan at the rate of 3 glasses of water per 200 g of noodles. A little salt is added to boiling water and the noodles are thrown. As soon as the water in the pan boils again, the fire is reduced and the product is cooked for 5 minutes without a lid. After cooking, the noodles are usually discarded in a colander and washed under running water. As soon as the water drains, the noodles are watered with a small amount of vegetable oil so that it does not stick together.

From rice you can cook a wide variety of dishes that will be very useful. This requires some experience, but it's not as complicated as it might seem at first glance.
