In 1974, he began to work in the advertising of films, after which he worked as an editor of the film "Arena" (1974). In the same year, he moved to California and thanks to Martin Scorsese began working in the studio of Roger Corman, created exciting trailers, after watching which the audience immediately had a desire to watch the film itself.

Later, Joe Dante made a film called Hollywood Boulevard (1976) in one week, having only 50 thousand dollars to create a film. Dante owes his fast career growth to Stephen Spielberg. There are also directors who have had a significant influence on his career.
