If you try an apple and a pear, in most cases the latter will be sweeter. And this is not due to the large number of sugars in this fruit, on the contrary, on average, there is less sugar in pear fruits. A sweeter taste is obtained due to the fact that they contain less acid, so even ancient doctors recommended that they be consumed by evil, bile people.

Pears contain vitamins B, A, C, pectins, volatile, tannins, which allows the use of dishes from them for medicinal purposes. What can be prepared from pears so that it is healthy? Firstly, in many families, especially where there are small children, dried fruits from pears will be very useful.

To prepare them, you need to take domestic fruits of the autumn harvest (not Chinese). They are thoroughly washed and cut into slices of half a centimeter. After this, the pears should be dried in a room without sun. Next, the oven is heated to 60 degrees, the fruits are laid out on the packaging paper and dried for about 8 hours.

To cook pear jam, you need these fruits, sugar and lemon. In the simplest case, you need to take 800 grams of fruit (peeled), 1.2 kg of sugar. Cut the pears into slices, pour a layer of sugar on the bottom of the dishes, put a layer of pears on it, pour with lemon juice, then again a layer of sugar, a layer of pears, lemon juice. Leave the fill overnight. In the morning, boil the resulting juice, remove the foam, dip fruit slices into it and cook until the fruit is transparent.

A truly royal taste has pear jam with nuts. To prepare it, you need to take 800 gr. peeled pears, 600 grams of sugar, one hundred grams of walnuts (without shell), a teaspoon of cinnamon and cardamom (cinnamon can take one and a half or two teaspoons). Sliced ​​pears are filled with sugar for 3 hours, cinnamon with cardamom is added, everything is mixed, boiled for 5 minutes. Then the components cool for about 5 hours, reheat. Nuts are added to the jam, and all together is once again boiled for half an hour. The treat is bottled hot in the jars and rolled up.

Pear jam is not the only recipe for harvesting these fruits for a long period. A simple recipe for pear jam suggests that only sugar (1 kg), a kilogram of pears and a glass of apple juice will be needed for cooking. Fruits without peel and core are well chopped, sprinkled with sugar at night. In the morning, the mass is transferred to a stainless steel or enameled saucepan, juice is added there, the jam is cooked on a small fire until when, after immersing a spoon in it, a thin thread of syrup is not formed between it and the surface. The treat is immediately poured into sterilized glass jars. After cooling, a circle of parchment paper is placed on its surface , suitable for the hole. The jar is covered with paper, tied and stored in a cool dark place.
