Stuffed zucchini in the oven can be the perfect hot meal for any family or holiday dinner. It is also worth noting that such vegetables can be stuffed with absolutely any ingredients - from meat to greens. In this article, we offer a cooking option with minced meat, tomatoes and cheese.

How to make zucchini boats in the oven

Essential Ingredients:

  • veal flesh without fat - 200 g;
  • hard cheese - 130 g;
  • medium onions - 3 pcs.;
  • small young zucchini - 3-4 pcs.;
  • medium fat mayonnaise - 140 g;
  • small ripe tomatoes - 4 pcs.;
  • iodized salt - ¾ small spoon;
  • big fresh carrots - 1 pc.;
  • pepper, dried parsley and dill - to taste;
  • vegetable oil - 2-4 tablespoons.

Stuffing Process

Zucchini boats can be filled with any meat product. We decided to use low-fat veal for these purposes. It should be washed, cut into pieces, and then chopped in a meat grinder. To give the minced meat a special flavor, it is also recommended to add onions to it. It can be finely chopped or processed similarly to meat. After this, the veal with the onion needs to be thoroughly mixed, seasoned with salt, dried herbs and pepper, and then proceed to fry them.

Before filling the boats with zucchini with minced meat, it is recommended to lightly fry it in oil along with coarsely grated carrots. You can do this in a stewpan, and in an ordinary frying pan. After the meat is slightly browned and loses all the broth (after 10-14 minutes), the dishes must be removed from the stove, and then finely chopped fresh tomatoes are added to the prepared veal.

Zucchini boats should be done as follows: fresh and young vegetables need to be washed, cut off the ends (you can also peel), cut in half, and then carefully remove the core with a knife and spoon. As a result, you should get deep and elongated shapes with fairly thick walls. Before spreading the minced meat there, it is recommended to grease them with plenty of salt and pepper.

Ready and seasoned spice boats from zucchini should be filled to the top with cooled minced meat. After this, the meat must be greased with a small amount of mayonnaise, which subsequently must be sprinkled with grated hard cheese.

Filled zucchini should be carefully placed on a sheet or any other dishes, and then put in a preheated oven for about half an hour. This time is quite enough for the vegetables to become soft, and the cheese to melt and form a delicious ruddy hat.

Proper serving

The finished dish of zucchini and minced meat should be removed from the oven, placed on a large plate and slightly cooled (so that it would not be scorching). Next, the boats need to be cut into portions and presented to family members as a delicious main course. You can also make vegetable salad with zucchini, serve fresh wheat bread and tomato sauce.
