Until the age of 18, Vladimir lived in Tallinn. Then he moved to Moscow and studied there. Vladimir considers Estonia to be his second homeland. In 1983 he graduated from the faculty of VGIK in the direction of the director, he studied under the legendary teacher Marlena Khutsiev. Since 1974, he connected his life with his wife Lydia. The creative path began, one might say, with meeting the future wife.
Personal life
They met their future wife Lydia in February 1974. Lydia at that time was the head of theatrical groups. From 1975 to 1977, Vladimir served in the army. And Lydia comes to his army. Vladimir first served in the Urals. The wedding took place in 1975. After the Urals, service was continued for Vladimir already in the Trans-Baikal District. The family of Vladimir Tumaev was friendly. While Vladimir served, Lydia played in the theater. Only the main roles were given to her, she wrote letters to her husband. At first she played in a drama theater in the city of Serov, then she moved to another theater, but there are only the main roles. Simultaneously with the theater, Lydia entered GITIS.
Co-workers of Vladimir Tumayev could not understand his great joy in connection with his wife's admission to the higher theater school. Lydia was distinguished by excellent acting and was one of the best on the course. The teacher included her in the list of best students and wanted to open his own theater, but, to Lydia’s great regret, he died suddenly.
In November 1978, Lydia gave Vladimir Tumaev a daughter, Mashenka. The teacher B. I. Ravenskikh sent the girl on academic leave. But two weeks after the birth of her daughter, Lydia came to the director's studio to continue her studies. Her desire was so great that no one could lead her astray. And then Vladimir Tumaev, seeing such a strong desire from his wife, went to meet her and drove the baby to feed.
The beginning of the creative path
Already in 1979, Lydia tries herself as an assistant director. Vladimir Tumaev speaks of his wife as "a rock behind which you can hide, relax and gain strength."
In 1981, Vladimir and Lydia appeared joint work "Idiot". For Vladimir, it was a term paper, with which he coped perfectly well with the help of his wife. The picture was short. In January 1982, a second daughter is born to a couple. They called the girl Faith. When Verochka was eight years old, she played herself in the film of parents. From early childhood, Verochka was very fond of animals and brought to the house absolutely everyone she found in the trash or picked it up somewhere. Once, Verochka found a sick dog, and the whole family nursed the dog, and then they could not leave her at home. The film with the participation of Vera Tumaeva was called "Moon Dogs".
In 1983, the couple acted together as directors in the short film Parenting by Dr. Spock. The length of the short film is only 20 minutes. The main role in the film went to Yuri Nazarov. In 1986, director Vladimir Tumaev, in alliance with his wife, released the film "A Trip to the Son", where Vladimir plays the role of screenwriter.
From 1991 to 1995, work is underway on the movie "Moon Dogs." As stated above, in the main role of this film was the daughter of a married couple - Vera. On September 28, 2004, a terrible tragedy occurred in the life of Vladimir Tumaev. His wife died tragically in a car accident. This happened on the seventy-first kilometer of the Orenburg-Orsk highway. Lydia was returning from the film festival, where she presented them to the film “Moon Dogs”, and a terrible tragedy occurred, the fateful point was set.
The car at a frenzied speed of 140 km / h rises to rise, Lydia is in the passenger seat, the driver is driving. A herd of horses flies out of the darkness, and the first horse is knocked down, it misses the roof of the car and does not give Lydia a single chance. Lydia is dying. The man who was driving does not get a scratch. Such a fateful combination of circumstances takes the wife and mother of two children.
