Thanks to the caffeine they contain, it has a stimulating effect on a person, which is probably why millions of people in all countries start their day with a cup of this divine drink.

It is known that the famous Voltaire drank fifty cups daily, and Ludwig Van Beethoven, who had a passion for this drink, personally made coffee from 60 types of beans. As you can see, coffee lovers are found among people of different ages and social status.

History

Brought from Ethiopia, this drink has a long history of its victorious procession on Earth. The history of coffee begins in the 14th century, when its beans were first brought to the Arabian Peninsula. But from the sixteenth century, merchants from Europe transported him to all European countries. A century later, in Europe, and more specifically in Amsterdam, the first seedlings of coffee trees appeared. Actually, in the northern hemisphere they were only exotic plants, which, for example, were given as gifts to kings. But Europeans, having southern colonies, began to cultivate entire plantations since the 18th century, and this drink spread throughout the world, bringing huge profits to its producers.

Types of coffee

Around the world, there are about seventy types of coffee trees, but the main ones are the following: arabica and robusta, which gave the name to the main types of coffee.

Arabica drinks are obtained from the grains of trees growing in the highlands. Grains - with a smooth surface and oblong shape. Robusta coffee is grown on tropical plantations in India, Indonesia and Africa. Grains are round in shape and grayish-green or light brown in color. This type of coffee, unlike Arabica, does not have such a rich and vibrant aroma, but it contains more caffeine.

Coffee types such as excelsia and liberica are less well known and are not grown on an industrial scale. They are notable for their rather low productivity, โ€œcapriciousnessโ€ and lack of demand. However, some of them are considered very expensive, as, for example, the African grade of mine Luwak, a cup of which costs several hundred dollars. Its value is explained by the fact that the drink is prepared after the grains have passed the entire food chain, including the gastrointestinal tract of a small musanga animal. Coffee connoisseurs say that only after that you can get a drink with an unusual taste and aroma.

These types of coffee can be mixed or consumed individually. Most drink lovers prefer arabica with a milder taste and less strong, it occupies a dominant position in the market.

In the modern world coffee market, there are about five hundred varieties of coffee, they are supplied by several manufacturing countries, the main of which is Brazil. Although foodies claim that the species supplied from there are not the best. The elite varieties of this high-quality drink are supplied to markets from other countries.

Many lovers believe that when going shopping, you only need to know the types of coffee, and the varieties are not of fundamental importance, since they have no special differences. But dozens of factors influence its taste, therefore, in order to experience true pleasure from this wonderful drink, it does not hinder to know not only the coffee varieties, but also its brands. Moreover, even one variety can differ in taste, as it is grown on various plantations, harvested at different times.

Among the huge number of varieties, the following can be especially distinguished: Indian missor, Santos (Brazilian), Morro from Yemen, mother from Colombia and others. All of them have a special taste and unusual aroma.

When choosing coffee, people with different taste preferences stop on the ground or in beans. Naturally, coffee in beans is really natural, which sometimes can not be said about mixtures. Ground, made up of various varieties and even grain crops, is much cheaper. Therefore, everyone who chooses coffee drinks should decide for himself.
