Linkin Park albums: 15 years of stunning experimentation

If we talk about modern rock legends, then not to mention Linkin Park will be just a crime. The guys from Los Angeles made a lot of noise over the 15 years of their existence: Linkin Park albums, one after the other, become if not “platinum”, then really “gold” for sure, and each concert turns into a big celebration for fans. So, the official releases of Linkin Park: how did it all begin and how can you characterize the band's latest album?

Linkin Park Albums: Hybrid Theory

The Hybrid Theory began the glorious history of the team. Linkin Park's albums are popular, but none of them reached the “diamond” status, and Hybrid Theory became such in 2010 (the release itself took place in 2000).

The world just “shook” from hits such as One Step Closer, Crawling and In the End. The team immediately received their first Grammy. And in the rock environment, everyone was just crazy about Linkin Park. Why?

They turned their music simply into a stunning cocktail: catchy motifs, Chester Benington's spectacular vocals mixed with Mike Shinoda's recitative, harsh sound, fast-paced rhythms, but not without a share of lyrics. In short, Linkin Park instantly and deservedly turned into an idol of youth.

Meteora

The second album of the group - Meteora - strengthened the position of the guys on the first lines of various charts and ratings. Especially popular was the song Numb. Perhaps this is the most recognizable composition from the work of the group.

Linkin Park videos were especially spectacular: for example, to shoot a video for the song From the Inside, I had to imitate unrest, drive tanks and a bunch of extras into the frame, which cost a lot of money.

The most incendiary compositions in the track list are Don't Stay and Faint. The lyrics of Somewhere I Belong and Breaking the Habit are distinguished by special lyrics.

Linkin Park: songs from the Minutes to Midnight album

The guys from the group try not to repeat themselves. Linkin Park albums differ in both atmosphere and style. The sound of the third studio album had a lot of electronics and fewer guitar riffs. What can be called truly fatal is What I've Done, Given Up and Bleed It Out. There was also a lot of lyrics in the disc: this is Leave Out All The Rest, and Shadow Of The Day, and many more songs.

Following Minutes to Midnight, more and more new albums were released with enviable frequency: New Divide (2009), A Thousand Suns (2010), Living Things (2011), the album of remixes Recharged. Musicians continued to experiment with electronics and hard sound. Their mixes remained fatal, but became more “ordered” and “combed” in sound.

Fans later reprimanded the guys that Linkin Park albums became more poppy, but there were pluses in this: firstly, interesting compositions began to appear, in which different styles were fancifully combined; secondly, the new Linkin Park format opened the way for them to the world of soundtracks, which the musicians earned a lot of money from. From now on, Linkin Park songs loomed in famous films: Transformers, Twilight, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, etc.

The hunting party

Unfortunately, by the fifth or sixth album, many groups begin a “crisis”. Despite the talent of the guys from Linkin Park (the project participants have proven their creativity for many years), the sixth studio album can hardly be called a work of art. And although music critics, according to an old habit, scatter in curtsies, we must face the truth: this time the guys "have gone to the wrong steppe."

Linkin Park albums
If you listen to the album, then track by track we are faced only with incoherent noise, Benigton's angry cries, but that’s not even the point. Where are those catchy motifs from previous albums? 12 tracks died out, but not a single song can be remembered after the first listening. Music critics say: listen several times and you will discover the genius of the new album. But let me: is there good music or is it not? You feel it from the first chord. If for the first time you heard only noise and confused rhythms, then you can only “get used” to this disgrace, but you can’t talk about some kind of “revelation”. We hope that the guys will have a good rest and will release at least one song in the next disc, which is remembered and does not cause you craziness.
