The AI-2 individual first - aid kit is an outdated version of a set of tools for providing first-aid and mutual assistance in injuries or after the use of weapons of mass destruction.
Emergency Rescue Units (NASF)
As a rule, these are independent structures formed on a freelance basis, but equipped with all necessary equipment, materials and tools for carrying out during emergency situations.
They are created on the basis of collectives of state institutions and take special training courses on how to act in urgent situations. Algorithms of behavior are developed with these people, which must be memorized before automatism. Then certification is carried out, and if everything goes well, the unit receives permission from the Ministry of Emergencies to participate in emergency response.
civil defense
These are also contingencies created in each organization to carry out government civil defense activities. Their function is not associated with an immediate threat to the life and health of people during an emergency. But by providing all possible assistance, they help prevent an increase in the number of victims. Each civil defense unit has its own purpose:
- surveillance and intelligence (bacteriological, chemical, biological, engineering);
- analysis of rubble;
- lifeguards;
- technicians;
- firefighters;
- protection (radiation, chemical, biological).
Appearance
The AI-2 first-aid kit is a plastic orange box, inside of which in two rows there are bottles with medicines and a disposable syringe for their administration. In addition, an individual anti-chemical package, a set of individual civil protection, an anti-burn and dressing bag, a soft stretcher, a sanitary bag in which was placed for first aid were given to the NASF.
Since 2008, such staffing, such as the AI-2 first aid kit, is no longer issued not only to army structures, but also to civilian units. Instead, there are AI-4 and AI-N-2.
Structure
This is a list of drugs that contains the AI-2 first aid kit. Its composition may vary, so an averaged version is given.

- The pain medication is a syringe tube with a two percent solution of Promedol (in some morphine kits), the route of administration is intramuscular.
- Antidote from FOV (organophosphorus substances) - usually this is the drug "Taren". A small red pencil case contains six tablets. To prevent poisoning, take one tablet and put on a gas mask. If symptoms, such as miosis, blurred vision, shortness of breath, still appear, you need to take another pill, but not earlier than six hours after the first.
- The antibiotic sulfadimethoxin is in the form of tablets in a sealed vial. Accepted in violation of the function of the gastrointestinal tract caused by a bacterial infection. A single dose is seven tablets, then four tablets every day.
- Radioprotective agent is a pill "Cystamine". It is taken for prophylaxis against radioactive radiation. One hour before the alleged radiation, six tablets must be taken, by the time of the threat the effect will manifest itself, but if the length of stay in the radioactive territory exceeds six hours, the tablets should be repeated in the same dose.
- A broad-spectrum antibiotic is Tetracycline. They are taken not only with bacterial infection, but also after burns and injuries as a preventive measure. A single dose is five tablets. Take twice at six-hour intervals.
- The antiemetic is Etaperazin. Instead, there may still be Aeron. It is indicated after radiation exposure, as well as after concussion, traumatic brain injury, poisoning if nausea or vomiting occurs. A single dose is one tablet. The effect lasts four to five hours, if the symptoms persist, then the tablets should be taken one every four hours.
- Potassium iodide tablets are a means of protecting the thyroid gland from radioactive iodine. One tablet is taken half an hour before the intended exposure or before the consumption of radioactive products. If radiation is supposed to be spent in the zone for more than a day, then every 12 hours you need to take another pill.
Features and recommendations
First-aid kit individual AI-2, the composition of which is presented above, is somewhat outdated in its configuration. It does not have modern antibiotics that could be used as a replacement for Tetracycline or Sulfadimethoxic, and there are no sedatives. As practice shows, they are necessary in an emergency. Therefore, it is recommended that civilians carry tranquilizers like Sibazon or Phenozepam.
The AI-2 first-aid kit is designed for an adult. For a child under eight years of age, all doses should be divided into four parts, and for a teenager, in two parts.
Modifications
A separate mention is required for the AI-N-2 first-aid kit. Special forces and other special forces military units use it for long-term autonomous use, as well as providing assistance to victims. It contains thirty items of drugs, compactly packed in a small convenient bag, which compares favorably with the previous version.
The AI-2 first-aid kit has already been discontinued, it can only be found as an exhibition copy.
