The drug "Ferezol", instructions for use

The drug "Ferezol" (an analogue of the "Phenol") is released in the form of a solution intended for external use. The tool belongs to the clinical and pharmacological group of drugs with cauterizing, mummifying effect. 100 grams of the solution contains 60 g of phenol and 40 g of tricresol.

The pharmacological effect is based on the ability of the drug to coagulate skin proteins and cauterize the epidermis.

The drug is prescribed:

  • with warts of the usual, filiform and plantar type;
  • with papillomas;
  • with dry calluses;
  • with genital warts of the skin;
  • with keratomas.

It is important to ensure that when applying the drug to the skin, the solution does not get on a healthy area of ​​the epidermis or on the mucous membrane in order to avoid burns. Do not touch the drug with your finger. The procedure should be performed only with a wooden stick.

For the treatment of small papillomas, the size of which does not exceed 2 mm, or filamentous warts, it is enough to use the drug once.

For the treatment of papillomas and larger warts, up to 3 mm, the solution is applied up to 4 times in a row. After each application, you must wait until the area dries.

The drug "Ferezol" from warts, which have a dense keratinous surface layer, is used, having previously removed the upper solid part. The recommendation applies to warts on the hands, calluses, keratomas.

The procedure must be performed using keratolytic ointment. A salicylic acid preparation of 10% concentration or another may be suitable for the patient's choice. Lubricate the formation, cover with compress paper, apply a bandage or fix with a band-aid. Soak for 2-3 hours, remove the bandage and steam in hot water. To enhance the steam effect, soda and soap are added to the water. The procedure lasts 15 minutes.

The softened keratinized layer should be removed using manicure tools (scissors or forceps).

When the skin dries, apply a solution of the drug β€œFerezal”, wait until the liquid dries. In the treatment of warts on the hands and soles, repeat the application from 7 to 10 times, waiting for pauses to dry the liquid. In the treatment of keratitis and dry callus, repeat the application from 3 to 4 times.

To protect healthy skin from burns, the area around the phenol-treated point should be lubricated with pharmacy zinc paste. At the end of the procedure, remove the paste with a piece of dry bandage.

Removal of genital warts is not recommended at home. Treatment with the drug is done by the doctor in the clinic.

After applying the drug on the skin near the eyes, the appearance of edema and redness, which pass independently over time, is possible.

Some patients have experienced allergic reactions.

Do not use the drug:

  • for the treatment of pigmented nevus (moles);
  • with rashes located on the mucous membranes along the contour of the lips;
  • on a large surface of the skin exceeding 20 square cm;
  • for the treatment of children under the age of 7;
  • with increased sensitivity to the drug.

Phenol is used to treat pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers only in cases of emergency. In the lactation period, the removal of formations located on the hands and mammary glands is contraindicated.

Special instructions relate to safety during procedures using phenol. It is important to ensure that the solution does not in any way get on the mucous membrane, especially in the eyes. If there has been a hit of the drug, it is recommended to immediately rinse your eyes for a long time, using a large amount of water. After that, immediately seek advice from an ophthalmological office.

It is impossible to impose on the sites treated with the Ferezol solution, fixing dressings, a patch, apply medicinal products and remove the crust.

The procedure is carried out in the sequence specified in the instructions, apply the solution, observing the pauses recommended above.

It is impossible that parts of clothing made of synthetic fabrics touch the site treated with phenol.

You can not use the drug to treat those areas of the skin that are prone to sweat, in the inguinal folds, in the anal area, between the fingers.

It is necessary to ensure that the drug "Ferezol" dries with air, without additional application of any ointments.

Do not wash the treated area with water on the first day after the procedure.

A solution that has got on healthy skin must be removed without rubbing it on the surface, then treat the place with alcohol, vodka, lotion or cologne. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water using soap.
