At the age of 45 to 50 years, the production of female sex hormones is on the decline, and after all, under their influence, the woman’s body has lived and developed for many years. The hormonal background changes quickly enough, and this cannot but manifest itself through a series of signs, which are commonly called menopausal syndrome.
With the onset of menopause, the production of sex hormones gradually decreases, this leads to characteristic changes in the menstrual cycle: menstruation becomes less frequent, their duration and intensity decreases. In most women, this period can pass almost imperceptibly, however, for many, a noticeable menopausal syndrome can be detected. By the age of fifty, women have menopause - the cessation of menstruation. The peculiarity of setting the date of menopause is that the exact termination of menstruation can be called no less than a year after the last menstrual period, because they, having stopped for several months, can always resume. This should not be forgotten in order to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
Pathological signs of menopause can also be distinguished - much more intense and plentiful menstruation than ever before. This phenomenon is quite common, about a third of women of this age face it, but you still need to visit a gynecologist and endocrinologist. Another unusual sign is a sudden complete cessation of menstruation, but such cases are much smaller.
The following symptoms are distinguished before menopause. Firstly, a change of mood. A woman herself even notices these changes for herself: her mood can change dramatically from enthusiastic to irritable and depressive. Unfortunately, at this time it is difficult to maintain a warm and even relationship at work and in the family - after all, a woman can react to rude and insulting any harmless word. Other signs of menopause are sleep disturbance, it is especially difficult to fall asleep, because a woman begins to remember unpleasant moments that occurred during the day. From this, she is even more upset. Sex drive, which is sharply reduced or, conversely, is significantly enhanced, also cannot but have an effect on the life of a woman.
Changes in the work of the autonomic nervous system are no less well-known signs of menopause. This is natural, because any change in mood affects the work of the vessels and internal organs of a woman. Signs of menopause, which are manifested by dysfunctions of the autonomic system, are the famous “flushes” of blood to the face and upper half of the body, excessive sweating, attacks of increased heartbeat, problems in the stomach and intestines.
Problems of the autonomic system can also manifest in the form of itching, “goosebumps” in the body and other signs. Such unclear sensations in the aggregate in nervous disorders can sometimes lead a woman to the idea that she is seriously ill.
Often with the onset of menopause, jumps in the distance begin: its significant increase can be replaced by a sharp decrease. Of course, the pressure does not reach critical values, but still it’s difficult for a woman to transfer such differences - they are accompanied by frequent headaches, sometimes - loss of consciousness.
Often with menopause, an allergic reaction in the form of urticaria, edema or a runny nose is possible.
Menopausal syndrome can be relatively easy, can be moderate and quite severe. With a mild course of menopause, the woman is completely able to work, and with moderate and severe form, she may need medical help. There is no consensus on how to treat menopause. One thing is clear - this is not worth doing on your own, because women often begin to fight symptoms, rather than affect their cause. Now there are many drugs containing hormones that may well replace the declining amount produced by the female body. These drugs should be selected by a qualified doctor based on the results of the tests.
