Mango as it is: getting used to the exotic

You will hardly surprise anyone with exotics today: people go to rest in distant and close countries, eat unusual food, but what can I say - in an ordinary supermarket you can buy fruit such as mangoes. How is this overseas miracle, how to cut it correctly and beautifully, we will understand right now. Those who did not have time to make friends with this fruit from the warm edges can only be envied - you have a very tasty discovery ahead!

Let's start in order:

1) how to choose. The "right" mango must be resilient and dense if you try to squeeze it. Not like a nut, but not like a peach. The peel should be shiny without cuts, dents or potholes. If these conditions are met - take it! And if the color of the fruit is red-yellow, then we take it without a doubt.

Bring home, twisted, sniffed, but what about next? And you need to thoroughly wash the mango, chop and think about how we want to use it. There are many ways - you can make a salad with the addition of mango, you can add the pulp to yogurt, you can make a cocktail by whipping in a blender ...

2) how to cut mangoes. The question, it would seem, is not so complicated, but only at first glance. It's all about the bone - the mango is huge. The pulp should be literally cut around it. There are several ways to chop this fruit:

  1. The way is beautiful. Cut into three parts so that the bone remains in the larger - it is in the middle. We turn the other two parts into a tablet for playing tic-tac-toe - carefully draw lines from top to bottom and from left to right. After that, it remains only to crush with your finger, as if turning the mango inside out - and the pieces are ready, now you can do anything with them. They are beautiful and even. Leftovers from the middle piece, the one with the bone, can be eaten or cut and then beat in a blender.

  2. The method is simple, but somewhat barbaric. Make an incision, as if separating one third of the fruit. But not deep - so that only the skin is removed. Remove the peel, hold for the part with which the peel was not removed. We eat like ice cream, just don’t forget about the bone, we protect our teeth. Barbarism in hands dirty on an elbow, a face and, possibly, in the spray flying everywhere.

  3. The method with the use of force. You can try to squeeze the flesh through a small incision, but it is unlikely that the event will succeed - the flesh, although it is called, is not so soft, which means that in the best case, the juice will turn out, which, in general, is also good.

There are several more ways, but they are more likely not like cutting mangoes, but rather extracting flesh from it. The best for salads is the number one method described above. And the eye is nice, and the kitchen is clean. If we can’t wait to taste this fruit, we can simplify the first way - cut into the same 3 parts, remove the pulp from the halves with a spoon.

I will not speak about the option “just like that, with a spoon”; it is intuitively clear to everyone. Mango goes well with other exotic fruits - papaya, kiwi, as well as with the usual bananas, oranges, apples and pears. In any proportions, you can mix them in a blender or make salads from them, seasoning with yogurt or cocktails.

A very unusual pizza will turn out if sprinkled with brown sugar, put half of mango, papaya, one kiwi on it, and sprinkle grated coconut with sugar on top.

Food lovers make chicken with mango and avocado, bake pies and make salads. Here, for example, is a simple but very piquant salad:

- 1 kg of boiled potatoes (preferably young),

- 1 chopped onion,

- 1 mango.
