The drug "Enterofuril" is an antimicrobial agent that is part of the group of intestinal antiseptics. Being a derivative of nitrofuran, the medication is used for infectious diarrhea. The medicine does not have a destructive effect on the intestinal microflora. Enterofuril helps to increase immunity, blocks the activity of toxins that are produced by pathogenic (pathogenic) microorganisms, and prevents the spread of infection. The drug is available in the form of syrup and capsules.

The medicine "Enterofuril" (suspension) is recommended for use in case of stool disorders caused by the activity of infections.

The drug is effective for diarrhea of ​​an obscure nature, against the background of antimicrobials, with colitis, an infectious nature. The medication is not used for diarrhea caused by the activity of worms.

Enterofuril (suspension) medicine is not recommended for use in case of hypersensitivity to the components.

The drug in the form of capsules is not allowed for administration to patients under seven years of age. Do not prescribe a drug to premature babies, as well as less than a month old.

The suspension is recommended for adults and children from the age of seven to five milliliters four times a day. Patients from 3 to 7 years old are prescribed 5 ml three times a day, from 7 months to two years - 2.5 ml four times a day, from two months to a year - two or three times a day 5 ml.

The course of treatment with Enterofuril (suspension) for children and adults is not more than a week.

During therapy with Enterofuril (suspension), the instructions for use recommend concomitant rehydration therapy (intravenously or orally (orally)) in accordance with the intensity of diarrhea.

The use of alcohol is contraindicated during treatment, due to the likelihood of a disulfiram-like reaction.

With diarrhea accompanied by sepsis, the drug Enterofuril is recommended in combination with antibacterial drugs designed to eliminate intestinal infections, due to the fact that nifuroxazide (the active substance of Enterofuril) is not absorbed into the digestive tract and, accordingly, does not penetrate into blood flow.

The medicine is prescribed with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, due to the presence of sucrose in the composition.

Despite the lack of data on unwanted effects on the fetus or condition of the infant (on natural feeding), the advisability of using Enterofuril during lactation and pregnancy is determined only by the doctor.

The studies did not reveal the effect of the drug on the ability to concentrate attention when performing potentially hazardous activities, including when driving.

The simultaneous use of Enterofuril with alcohol-containing drugs or sorbents is not recommended.
