Despite the popularity of this disease, many still do not know what sinusitis is. So, they never hurt them - and it pleases. Now, seriously. This disease affects both adults and children. Sinusitis does not appear on its own. A cold or allergy provokes him. What is this disease and how to treat sinusitis in children, we will tell in this article.
Sinusitis - what is it
In our society, it is customary not to pay any attention to a runny nose. This problem is too insignificant - we think! But the hour is not even - and complications can occur in the sinuses. These sinuses are called sinuses, hence the name of the disease. They are very close to the brain, and when inflamed, the pus that has arisen in one of the sinuses can easily spread to the brain. This can lead to both disability and death. Causes of sinus inflammation are viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
Sinusitis is acute and chronic. Acute has an infectious origin and is provoked by bacteria and viruses, and chronic occurs when the
treatment of sinusitis was untimely or incorrect.
Symptoms of Sinusitis
The most common symptoms are:
- nasal congestion;
- green or yellow mucus forms in the sinuses and the back of the throat.
Of the common symptoms, there are:
- pain in the eyes, in the nose, also accompanied by unpleasant sensations on the cheeks and forehead;
- rarely, but still there is bad breath;
- problems with smell;
- heat;
- sore throat;
- persistent coughing at night.
If you ignore the symptoms of this disease and do not start treatment for sinusitis in time, then you can "fly in" not childishly! For example, sinusitis of the sphenoid sinus easily provokes vision problems, ear infections and meningitis, and this is already very serious!
Baby sinusitisSinusitis in children is a fairly common occurrence. The child’s immune system is not yet sufficiently strengthened, and against the background of a weakened immune system, bacteria can easily penetrate the sinuses. Very often this occurs in the form of complications after a cold. Often with childhood sinusitis, there is a risk of infection spreading to the middle ear, which causes individual forms of otitis media.
Symptoms of childhood sinusitis are significantly different from adults:
- complaints of the child for pain in different places of the head:
- dryness may occur in the throat;
- appetite is reduced, and sleep is impaired;
- a significant increase in temperature;
- cough, which intensifies at night.
No folk methods
Not everyone knows how to treat sinusitis in children. And they’re doing the right thing - there is nothing to show initiative. See your doctor for the right treatment for your child. On our own, we add that treatment usually includes antibacterial drugs, antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, and physiotherapy.
Pay special attention to the fact that the
treatment of sinusitis in a child is not the place for alternative experiments of traditional medicine. Better leave Gennady Petrovich Malakhov with carrot or beetroot juice and all other herbal medicine! And then you will drop herbal infusion into your baby’s nose, but it turns out that not only did sinusitis go away, but also some kind of allergy appeared. Remember, with inflammation of the sinuses in children, treatment should in any case be monitored by a doctor. In general, carefully monitor the manifestation of any signs indicating inflammation of the sinuses, and, for God's sake, do not engage in nonsense, in the sense, self-medication!
