Iron deficiency anemia and the drug 'Ferrum Lek'.

If a person has a low level of hemoglobin in the body, this condition is called iron deficiency anemia. This is a pathological (abnormal) condition in which the body suffers from a lack of iron. And this is very serious, because, when bound to iron, oxygen flows to all cells and tissues. No iron - no oxygen.

Lack of oxygen immediately affects your health. People with low hemoglobin levels feel lethargic, a rapid decrease in performance, dizziness. Their skin is unnaturally pale, their skin is dry, cracking. Everything suggests that the cells of the body lack oxygen.

In connection with the rapid spread of this pathology, the pharmaceutical industry has developed the drug Ferrum Lek, which is actively struggling with iron deficiency anemia. Today it is one of the best drugs that is most often prescribed by doctors. The name โ€œFerrum Lekโ€ itself indicates that the composition of the drug contains iron - exactly what the body lacks in case of anemia. Every day, in order to ensure a minimum of this element, a person should eat foods containing iron (the norm is at least 20 milligrams). If this is a pregnant woman, then her daily dose is 30 milligrams. It is also especially worth mentioning that a woman with menstruation also loses iron, so she needs to replenish this element like no one else.

First of all, it is recommended to use veal - it is distinguished by the maximum content of this element in an easily digestible form. In addition, fish and liver are rich in iron. Previously, in anemia, patients were advised to eat carrots, pomegranates, apples, but the iron, which is part of these products, is practically not absorbed due to its chemical properties - it is trivalent. It is best to combine vegetables with meat dishes - then the absorption of iron will be much better.

An excellent substitute for iron, if it is not possible to consume vegetables (for example, in winter) or if you need to urgently raise the level of hemoglobin, is the Ferrum Lek drug, which was mentioned above.

In this preparation, iron is also trivalent, however, due to the accompanying components, this compound is stable, that is, iron is not released in the form of free ions. When taken orally, the drug is actively absorbed from the intestine into the blood and spreads throughout the body. Due to this, there is no need to talk about overdoses of the drug "Ferrum Lek". Within a couple of weeks after application, the symptoms of iron deficiency anemia are significantly reduced. The full effect occurs with regular use of the drug for about two months.

The form of the drug is chewable tablets, syrup (Ferrum Lek for children is most often produced in this form with sweeteners).

When taking the drug, sometimes you may experience a feeling of heaviness, discomfort in the stomach, diarrhea or constipation. If part of the iron is not absorbed, then it is excreted, staining the feces in a dark color.

It is worthwhile to use ferrum lek only after consulting a doctor, because with some contraindications, the drug can cause irreparable harm.

If there is a need for an urgent rise in hemoglobin, for example, before or after surgery, after significant loss of blood from injuries, etc., then ferrum lek is administered intravenously. First, in half an ampoule - to test the reaction, since the medicine can not be administered intravenously with liver failure, bronchial asthma, polyvalent allergies, infectious diseases. If there is no negative reaction to the drug, then an entire ampoule is administered, and then two ampoules within ten days. In some cases, you can do intramuscular injections, deep into the muscle.
