The main reason people bake is their love of sweets and the desire to enjoy something fresh with tea. Warm roll with sweet filling is an excellent way to improve your own mood.
In order to please loved ones with a delicious dessert, you will need to prepare a yeast dough. It does not require too much skill or experience.
How to make dough on a simple roll for tea
Mix the yeast in touch-warm water (about 30 degrees). Add a tiny pinch of sugar to make them grow. Let the mixture stand for several minutes. Yeast should bubble slightly and froth. If this does not happen, the water may be too hot or cold. You will have to repeat this step with new yeast.
What will be needed to prepare the test:
- 1/2 tbsp. milk and as much sugar;
- 5 glasses of flour;
- 4 tablespoons butter solid butter and as much melted;
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of tea salt;
- 2 packs of active dry yeast;
- 1/2 tbsp. warm water;
- 2 eggs, beat a little.
Test preparation process
Heat the milk to a boil in a small pan, stir in it sugar, butter and salt. Stir eggs, a mixture of yeast with water and half the right amount of flour in a warm milk mixture with a strong wooden spoon until a uniform mass is obtained. Pour the rest of the flour and mix well with a wooden spoon until the consistency at which the dough begins to fall off the walls of the dishes. You have to make it cool. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Sprinkle flour on your hands and shape the dough into a bowl. Then lightly knead it for a while until a homogeneous mass and elastic consistency are formed. Sprinkle lightly with flour on top, cover with a clean cloth and leave for 15 minutes.
You can freeze the prepared dough, and subsequently at any time make a roll for tea quickly. If you decide to start baking immediately, proceed to the next steps.
While the dough rises, cover the rectangular baking sheet with two pieces of aluminum foil - one place crosswise, the other longitudinally. Spread the foil with melted butter. Prepare the filling.
Roll the dough into the shape of a rectangle, grease it with melted butter. Apply a layer of filling, leaving 1 cm of space at the edges. Starting from the longest side closest to you, roll up a tight roll and firmly press the edge. Put the roll in the prepared pan. Lubricate the top with the rest of the melted butter. Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and put the dough in the room to stand quietly for a while so that it rises.
Then preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Bake tea roll until the top is beautifully browned, it takes 25-30 minutes. After that, remove from the oven and hold for five minutes, and then remove the roll from the baking sheet by pulling the ends of the foil. The finished product can be glazed before serving.
Possible fillings
Cinnamon-Pecan-Raisins: Mix 3/4 tbsp. granulated sugar with 1.5 tablespoons ground cinnamon. Add the mixture to 1/2 cup chopped pecans and 0.5 tbsp. raisins or dried cranberries.
Rice with walnuts: mix a glass of sweet boiled rice with 0.5 cups of chopped walnuts.
Lemon Cheese: Mix 400 grams of cream cheese with 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/4 tablespoon of tea salt, 1 egg yolk, a tablespoon of finely grated lemon peel and lemon juice. Such a filling will make your tea roll especially delicious.
Glaze
Mix 1.5 tbsp. sugar, 2 tablespoons tablespoons milk and 0.5 tablespoons of vanilla tea extract in a small bowl. You can add more milk if the mixture is heterogeneous.
This recipe is not the only one. Delicious roll for tea can be prepared in another way. For example, with the addition of aromatic nutmeg.
Nutmeg roll
Ingredients for the dish:
- 1/2 tbsp. whole milk;
- active dry yeast (2 full and 1/4 teaspoons of tea);
- 1/4 Art. Sahara;
- 4 tablespoons butter, slightly softened;
- 1 large egg yolk;
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla tea extract;
- 2 3/4 Art. flour;
- 3/4 teaspoon of tea salt;
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg grated.
How to cook?
Heat a glass of water and milk in a saucepan over low heat to about 30 degrees. Remove the container from the heat and add the yeast to the mixture, then sprinkle with a pinch of sugar. Leave on for about five minutes.
Beat the melted butter, egg yolk, and vanilla with a mixture of yeast until smooth. In a large bowl, beat the flour, the remaining sugar, salt and nutmeg. Make a depression in the center, then add the yeast mixture to it and mix with a wooden spoon. You should make a thick and slightly sticky dough. Transfer it to a flour-covered surface and knead until soft and elastic, it will take about 6 minutes. Roll it into a ball.
Lubricate a large bowl with oil on the inside. Transfer the dough into it, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature until it doubles in volume. This will take about a little more than an hour.
Remove the dough from the bowl and knead a little again to remove excess air from it. Roll it again into a ball, oil a large piece of plastic film and wrap a piece of dough with it. Put it with the film in a bowl and refrigerate for the night (for at least four hours).
Having made such a blank on the eve, you will be able to cook a roll for tea in haste. This is useful if guests are expected to arrive, but your free time on the eve of their visit is limited. This roll is baked similarly to that specified in the previous recipe. As a filling, anything can be used - from jam and boiled condensed milk to a mixture of poppy seeds, nuts and dried fruits. Ideally, this dough is combined with a mixture of poppy, sugar and cinnamon.
The fastest recipe
Sometimes a situation arises when you need to cook a quick roll for tea in 5 minutes, but there is no pre-prepared dough. What to do in this case? Under such circumstances, one can recall the "grandmother" recipe invented in the era of food shortages. For him you will need:
- 1 can of undigested condensed milk.
- 1 egg
- Flour (about 1 cup).
- Soda on the tip of a knife.
- Any sweet filling.
Quick tea roll: recipe with photo
Combine all the ingredients until the consistency of thick sour cream. The amount of flour is taken by eye, the main thing is not to shift it. Lubricate the pan with any oil, pour on it an even thin layer of dough. Put in the oven, turned on a temperature of 180 degrees, for 5 minutes. Then take out the finished dough, quickly grease it with any filling and immediately turn it into a roll. If it cools, twist it will not work. Therefore, use kitchen gloves for this purpose or wrap your hands in a clean towel. As a filling in this roll for tea, you can use any jam, peanut butter, chocolate paste and so on.
