New manifestations of proliferation after sectoral resection are quite common, in addition, 3-5% of women after sectoral resection may develop breast cancer. There is reliable evidence that the risk of developing mastopathy and breast cancer is much higher in nulliparous women than in those who gave birth to children and had abortions.
