In a separate bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of sugar with 1 tablespoon of shoyu (soy sauce) and 2 tablespoons of water and bring to a boil. Fry 1 spoon of dark sesame seeds and add them to the syrup. Then we take each slice of potato with chopsticks, dip into syrup and immediately into cold water. The dish is ready.
Stuffed Sweet Potato
Four sweet potatoes (i.e. approximately 1 kg) should be washed thoroughly and pierced with a fork in several places without peeling. Spread each vegetable with olive oil and bake on the wire rack in the oven. Then carefully cut the tops of sufficient size from the sweet potatoes so that the pulp can be selected. Mix it with 150 g of sour cream, zest and juice of half a lemon, one spoon of canned green pepper and salt. With this filling, you need to fill the vegetables, and put on top a small piece of butter (total no more than 1 tablespoon). Put the sweet potatoes in the oven and bake until cooked.
Sweet Potato with Tomato
Peel 1 kg of sweet potato and cut it into cubes, wash it well, dry it and fry it in sunflower oil until dark. Finely chop one onion and fry on margarine until softened, then add 0.5 kg of minced meat to it (if you like fatter - pork, and if not - beef or chicken), salt and fry until cooked.
Four tomatoes need to be peeled (for this it is better to pour them with boiling water first), finely chop and put in the meat so that it is soaked in tomato juice. Put the potatoes in a cauldron or similar dish, put the minced meat on top, pour the sauce remaining after frying, and cook until cooked.
Sweet Potato Chips
If yam is called potato, then why not make chips from it? To do this, we need 2 long and thin sweet potatoes, which need to be washed and boiled in a double boiler. Then we mix 3 tablespoons of flour with 5 tablespoons of water and insist for 30 minutes, after which we add to the dough a mixture of 2 eggs, beaten with cayenne pepper and salt.
Boiled sweet potatoes should be cleaned and cut into slices no more than a centimeter thick, season each with cayenne pepper or curry, dip in dough and put in hot oil.
Sweet Potato with Mackerel and Beetroot
Take 4 small mackerels, remove the heads and cut from the back. Remove the ridge and entrails. 2 sweet potatoes cut into cubes and cook in salt water. Cook them until ready do not need, enough for 5 minutes. Fry the mackerel in the oven for about 5 minutes on each side. Mix the sweet potato with 4 small beets, previously cooked and cut into cubes, and 2 small raw sweet potato tubers, add 1 chopped onion and a third of a glass of fresh orange. Pour the fish with the resulting sauce.
Sweet potatoes with chestnuts
A kilogram of sweet potatoes should be cooked and whipped with a blender. Then add 300 g of sugar and 4 tablespoons of table wine and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, not forgetting to stir. After removing from heat, you need to add 400 g of canned chestnuts and mix. The dish is ready.
Sweet Potato Soup
4 peeled sweet potatoes should be boiled in salted water until tender. Then you need to drain the water, and add to the sweet potato a spoonful of butter, the same amount of flour and brown sugar, one and a half glasses of meat broth and seasoning: a quarter teaspoon of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon (all ground) and 1 tbsp. thyme. Beat all this, add a glass of milk and boil for about 10 minutes. Serve hot on the table.
