One of the first children is given DTP vaccination. And poliomyelitis, being a terrible disease that claimed thousands of lives in the past, requires mandatory vaccination.
DTP vaccination protects the child against three serious infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough.
Diphtheria is an acute disease of an infectious nature. It is caused by bacteria, accompanied by the appearance of a fibrous film, general poisoning of the body and numerous complications, among which are toxic-infectious shock, nephrosis, myocarditis, polyneuritis, and even airway blockage. The infection is more than serious.
Tetanus is a serious illness, also of an infectious nature. It is transmitted through wounded skin and mucous membranes. The nervous system of a person is affected, resulting in convulsions. The disease is extremely severe and requires urgent hospitalization.
As for whooping cough, it is transmitted by airborne droplets, and is caused by bacteria. This is also an acute infection that causes spasmodic coughing, accompanied by severe hypoxia, convulsions. In young children, whooping cough is extremely difficult and often causes respiratory arrest and, consequently, death. Moreover, this terrible disease affects children of all ages, and most often get sick from a year to seven years. This is what the DTP vaccine saves people from.
And polio is also prevented by vaccination. Viral infection affects the central nervous system, causes lifelong paralysis and even death. The polio virus is transmitted through a sip of contaminated water and a piece of food, but it can also be done through sneezing or coughing. Alas, a terrible polio disease, vaccination against which is the only reliable way to prevent it.

DTP and polio vaccine are valuable medical inventions that have saved many lives. These vaccines are readily available, safe and effective. There are practically no contraindications to the DTP vaccine , children can easily tolerate it, and they can be vaccinated after recovering from acute and mild respiratory diseases. The only thing that prevents vaccination is diseases of the nervous system that progress and do not go away, as well as cases of seizures (at high temperature). If there are such symptoms, DTP vaccination and polio vaccination are done according to plan, and DTP is performed without the pertussis component (DTP).
It should be noted that children suffering from chronic diseases of the lungs, kidneys, liver, heart and blood vessels are vaccinated in the first place, because they are much more difficult to tolerate the diseases from which the vaccine rescues.
DTP and polio vaccines, hepatitis B and measles, mumps and rubella vaccines can be given at the same time.
Parents should not be afraid of vaccinations: they are vital, saving the health of children and adults. And in order to prevent possible negative reactions of the child to the vaccine, some measures need to be taken. If the temperature rises (wait only up to 37.5, not higher), it is necessary to give a febrifuge, feed the baby as desired and do not force food, drink more water for the baby, limit contact and generally provide the baby with a calm, quiet and pleasant environment. Be sure to ventilate the room more often.
