Marina Poplavskaya - actress, singer, comedian, producer, television presenter, philologist, teacher. She participated in several Ukrainian and Russian television projects: "For Three", "Diesel Show", "This is Love", "Ukraine U". She was the captain of the KVN team. Marina was the winner of the Voting KiViN festivals, was a member of the jury of All-Ukrainian festivals in Zaton.
Biography
Marina Poplavskaya was born on March 9, 1972. She is a native of the city of Novograd-Volynsky Zhytomyr region. The girl grew up in a Catholic family. The roots of Marina originate from noble Polish ancestors. Her great-grandfather Vicentius Lewandowski was a baron.
From a young age, the girl dreamed of becoming a teacher. After graduation, she continued her studies at the Faculty of Philology of Zhytomyr State University.
After receiving a red diploma of higher education, Marina Poplavskaya got a job in school number 26, and then number 33 in the city of Zhitomir. There she worked according to the acquired specialty as a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature for twenty-three years. Marina also served as a class teacher. Over the years of her work, she was recognized as the best teacher in the city. And she always considered it her greatest merit.
Even when Marina became a public figure, she continued her teaching activities. In addition, the actress was the head of the drama circle at school. Only in 2017 Poplavskaya quit, citing a tight schedule of performances.
Creation
In 1993, Marina Poplavskaya was invited to KVN. She was the captain of the team "Girls from Zhytomyr". Four years later, her team took part in the performances of the Premier League. They failed to achieve great results.
Later, Marina and her team performed at the music festival "Voting KiViN". Here she was a great success. Everyone remembered the unusual voice and songs of Marina Poplavskaya. In 1997 and 2011, the team won the festival.
After such success, Marina was invited to work on television in Russia. She became the host of the program "For Three", which was broadcast on the NTV channel. It was this work that revealed the full potential and talents of Poplavskaya. In 2004, Marina acted as an actress in the film "Four Loves."
Since 2015, Marina Poplavskaya took part in the famous Ukrainian comedy project "Diesel Show". There she played three roles at once - the actress talentedly portrayed the mother-in-law, mother and wife. These images brought her great popularity. The actress became recognizable not only in her homeland, but also in Russia and Belarus.
The image of the Ukrainian wife created by her was especially popular. The role of her husband was played by Evgeny Smorygin. This couple fell in love with the audience of the "Diesel Show". Fans especially appreciated the song "March 8", which mocked the attempts of the Ukrainian government to ban this holiday.
The program participants joked a lot on political topics. The occasion was also the Kremlinβs hand beloved by the Ukrainian authorities, to which all the troubles of the country were attributed. The actress herself was engaged in composing jokes and songs. They were simple, understandable and close to the audience.

Personal life
Marina Poplavskaya was never married, she did not have her children. The woman gave all her warmth and energy to her beloved nephews and students.
Death
Marina Poplavskaya passed away under tragic circumstances. On October 20, 2018, she was riding the bus along with other participants of the Diesel Show program on the Chop-Kiev highway.
The catastrophe occurred at about seven in the morning near the village of Mila near Kiev. Actors were traveling from Lviv to the capital. To Svyatoshinsky district remained about fifteen kilometers. Having lost control of the bus, the driver collided with a truck brand DAF. He flew into the vehicle at full speed at a speed of more than one hundred kilometers per hour.
There were fourteen people on the bus at that moment. Marina Poplavskaya was sitting in the front seat. This circumstance played a fatal role for her. The driver and all passengers, except Marina, remained alive. Only she died. Four passengers were in serious condition, the health of the rest was not in danger.
The bus driver was detained at the scene. It is assumed that he fell asleep at the wheel. The detainee was accused of violating the rules of the road, which led to the death of the passenger. A criminal case was opened.
On October 21, 2018, a farewell to the beloved actress took place in Kiev, and on October 22, they said goodbye to her in Zhitomir. A funeral service was also held here. On the same day, Marina Poplavskaya was buried in the Central Alley of the Korbutovsky cemetery.
Memory
After the tragic death of Marina Poplavskaya at a meeting of the Zhytomyr City Council, it was decided to award the actress the title of Honorary Citizen of the city. The artist was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit of the third degree. In memory of the beloved actress, the ICTV channel shot a documentary.
