Alexander Valentinovich Gorsky is a unique leader who managed to set up film production in the countries of the USSR. Thanks to his merits, the country can enjoy the brilliant films that were influenced by the work of Alexander and his family.
Young years
Alexander himself was born on August 24, 1898 in the Kirovograd region, in Alexandria. Nothing is known about Gorsky's parents. According to the notes of compatriots, it was established that Alexander’s mother lived all her life in one of the villages near Alexandria. The father died early, because of which the mother had to work in the factory to feed two children.
After receiving school education, Alexander Gorsky went to study at a vocational school, where he received carpentry skills. After completing his studies, he had to go to the front to defend the interests of his homeland in the First World War. Years later, he joined the Red Army.
When there was a war of liberation in Ukraine, the young man began working in the theater of his native city as the chief assistant to the stage director. By the way, this experience became the key in the life of Alexander Gorsky.
Becoming a creative way
In 1919, he began a relationship with Elena Davydovna Immortal. They quickly flowed into a strong marriage. Alexander adopted the son of Elena Davydovna - Arseny. A little later they had a daughter, Alla, who also chose a creative path, was engaged in painting and art activities.
When the situation stabilized more or less at home, Alexander showed enthusiasm and, together with his comrades, created a creative association in his hometown. "Mahudram" has become a favorite place of Alexandrians.
Alexander supported the work of the Soviet government. That is why in 1920 he moved with his family to Yalta, where he began active political activity. A little later, merit helped him become an outstanding organizer of the work of Soviet film production.
Meanwhile, his wife was teaching. When the family later moved to Leningrad, she started designing costumes and outfits for the actors, which became her main activity.
Ten years before the war, Alexander Gorsky, a favorite of actors, became the director of the Yalta film production. The work lasted only two years, but made a significant contribution to the history of cinema. This was especially important at the time of the change in the entire film industry, which was becoming more and more popular every day.
Due to the fact that he was able to normalize the process of film production in the country on his own, the critics of the reviews about Alexander Gorsky were very positive. The popularity of his paintings increased.
After the final point was established on the issue of the Yalta film factory, he went with his family to Moscow. Instantly a proposal was received for the leadership of the Vostokfilm trust. And it was accepted. Thanks to his connections and skills of a responsible organizer, he began work in the work of the Leningrad film studio, which lasted until the outbreak of World War II.
During work, he realized that managing such a large production requires some creative skills. That is why he became a student of the faculty of special purposes. At this faculty, future leaders received the most necessary skills in various fields of science and art. Thanks to this program, many mentors and leaders have gained the necessary knowledge.
For several months, the director of the Leningrad film studio participated in the hostilities with Finland. Before the tragic time of World War II came, he went to Mongolia with the participants of the studio to make the film “His name is Suhe-Bator”.
Start of war
When the Second World War began, Alexander Gorsky was referred to as a man who stubbornly breaks into battle. Seeing his stepfather masculine qualities, Arseny also decided to get into the militia ranks of partisans. For a long time he participated in the defense of Leningrad, but in the 43rd he died in battle.
Meanwhile, the spouse was going through a difficult period. In her arms was the youngest daughter, whom they called Alla. In Leningrad, they had to survive two hungry years. When Elena Davydovna found out that her son had died from her first marriage, she decided to go to Alma-Ata, where her husband worked in the united industry. They managed to live there for a short and comfortable couple of months.
Leadership activities
In the same year they went to Kiev, where the head of the family took over as director of the film studio (1943-1953). During this period, serious changes took place in the film industry, in which Alexander was also a participant. It was he who contributed to the change of monochrome shooting to color and the appearance in the paintings of a sound series. The post of director was occupied until 1953.
After the change of power of the Soviet government, he became director of the Odessa film studio, where he headed the post for 8 years.

In 1961, after his retirement, Alexander Gorsky's wife died. After living for two years in a state of severe depression, he went to Kiev, where he was involved in the formation of the A. Dovzhenko Theater. Thanks to his skillful skills as an organizer, he was able to support a large number of beginning talents who later became eminent actors.

Alla Gorskaya
No less important place in the life of Alexander Valentinovich was occupied by daughter Alla. She was also a creative person. However, in the early years, the father did not support his daughter's hobbies. But his opinion changed when Alla, passionate about social activities, came into conflict with the authorities. She was already a famous artist, her antics were largely covered and criticized by the Soviet government. During this period, his father supported Alla.
In 1970, she died under mysterious circumstances, which was a blow to the whole family.
Death
Alexander Valentinovich himself died in 1983.
In 2015, the Ukrainian government renamed the street in Kiev, where the family lived since the 1960s, into the house named after Alla Gorska.
In 2016, a street was named in Alexandria in honor of the great leader who put so much energy into the development of Soviet cinema.
