Why did the sores appear in the language?

In tongue sores
Inflammation in the tongue often appears due to obvious and visible factors (for example, bites, hot food, etc.). However, there are more serious reasons why sores may appear in the language.

If the pain does not subside, but intensifies, and you did not burn or bite your tongue, then first of all you need to see a dentist or general practitioner. There may be an infection in your mouth or some nutrient deficiency in your body. You may be advised some drug to eliminate the ailment.

If ulcers are present somewhere in the mouth that do not go away within a few weeks, then a visit to the doctor is simply a must.

What can cause sores in the language? Geographic language (also called desquamative glossitis) occurs as a result of damage to the oral cavity by a virus or pathogenic bacteria. In this case, the nodules on the surface of the tongue become inflamed after chewing food, and especially if you are trying to fight the infection mechanically (scraping, etc.). As a result, sores or one large ulcer of a reddish color with a white border appear in the tongue; its drawing resembles a geographical map.

Usually the symptoms of the disease disappear on their own after a few weeks, but can reappear when eating hot food or one that contains acids. In women, the onset of menstruation can cause symptoms of this disease. They are usually eliminated with various painkillers available in pharmacies (discuss their choice with your doctor). It must be taken into account that the disease is chronic and cannot be completely treated. But you need constant supportive treatment.

Thrush, a yeast infection caused by a fungus, can also cause white sores on the tongue. Thrush can occur if:

  • take a lot of antibiotics;
  • the immune system is weakened;
  • there are diabetes.
