Since the release on Russian screens in 2010, the comedy series has repeatedly received mixed criticism. For the TNT channel and the GoodStoryMedia film company, it became a completely new project, to which nothing of the kind was created, and for the Perm Territory, in which the bulk of the filming took place, a cultural heritage. Surprisingly, a huge number of viewers watched the life of a simple guy called a more appropriate treatment - a boy. For many, his everyday problems seemed familiar and painfully understandable, which made it possible to gather a male audience of teenagers and post-teenagers from the screens.
This can be confirmed by the high ratings of the channel and the frenzied interest in the life of Kolyan himself and his friends. Already having behind him the drives to the police, the Permian boy agreed. So “Real boys” became one of the most successful reality shows.
The pilot series was shot on an amateur camera back in 2009. Having received the go-ahead from the Moscow TV channel, they did not begin to shoot it. The first episode was shown in the original. But all the subsequent ones were already carefully directed and were subject to installation.
This is now the audience knows all the characters by name. And then acquaintance with each of them was just beginning. The adventures of friends and their difficult “boyish” life could lead to anything, because it was difficult to answer, for which, and most importantly, whom did they put from “Real boys”? Prescribed heroes are boys in each of us
The series is in many ways similar to life reality. So, without thinking twice, the scriptwriters made Kolyan a seller in a mobile phone salon. Like any guy who is comparable in age to Kolyan, in the life of the hero a lot of attention is paid to personal relationships. The simple girl Masha makes serious competition to Lera, in whom the hero has been in love for a long time. The girl with a difficult character Valya, who is Masha's girlfriend, is having an affair with Edik. Kolyan himself faces a difficult choice - the more affluent, but ambitious Lera, or the affordable but unloved Masha.
Boy's charisma - merit of actors
Despite the abundant diversity of storylines, during which there are changes in the characters and lives of the main characters, those who embody these images in the series “Real Boys” are of no small importance. Actors incredibly harmoniously fit into the images, and it is simply impossible to imagine other people, like the show itself without any of them.
Nikolai Naumov, in whose honor they gave the name to the protagonist, did not think of an acting career. A student of a pedagogical institute, originally from Perm, he became a member of the KVN team. It was with the role of the comedian, representing for the first time the image of the street kid Kolyan, that the further ascent to the Olympus began.
Anton Bogdanov and Vladimir Selivanov, playing the roles of the faithful comrades of Antokhi and Vovan, went a similar way. Participants of KVN and future residents of Comedy Club, they migrated to “Real boys”, from where they gained wide fame.
And only Stanislav Tlyashev entered the acting department of the university of his native city. While learning to play on stage, he joined the team of boys, completing a trio of Kolyan's best friends.
Each of the actors can share the facts of his biography related to unpleasant moments, which are reflected in the reality show. In general, in addition to the main scenario, much was improvised on the set and added to the dialogs by the actors themselves. They remember how they indulged in hooliganism as teenagers and can boast of real drives to the police. Fortunately, their tricks did not go as far as the storylines of the heroes. Such a fate of the hero caused a storm of spectator emotions - many believed that he had not done anything illegal: the mansion remained safe and sound, like all his property. Even with all its absurdity. Mama Kolyana is a truly Russian woman who does not have a sense of tact. Confident of her attractiveness, the boya Valya, who will not be ashamed to give heat to anyone who does not think so. Or the district police officer and his assistant Bazanov, who bring a considerable share of humor at every tandem appearance on the screen.
Talking about a separate social layer that is inherent in every nation, but which for some reason is bypassed by many, the project has incorporated enough diversity in individual characters and plot twists to attract, however, a large audience of the series “Real Boys”.
