There are several ways to prepare this material to create an artistic composition. But mostly they are based on fruit marshmallows called marshmallows. 70 grams of this marshmallow will require about 30 grams of butter (or a little condensed milk), powdered sugar and dyes (depending on what the composition will be). Sometimes, for decorating cakes, they also use special confectionery markers with which to write, and colored beads (all ingredients are available in the confectionery departments).
Making
mastic for the cake with your own hands is very simple. Marshmallows with butter (condensed milk) are placed in a deep bowl (not metal) and heated
in a microwave. Usually 20-30 seconds are enough for this, the main thing is not to overdo it. Then the mass is thoroughly mixed with a spoon and begin to add powdered sugar a little, kneading the dough. Next, put the mastic on the table, sprinkled with powder, and knead.
The finished mastic can be painted with food colors. If the cake is prepared for a children's holiday, it is better to use vegetable juices (beetroot, carrot, spinach).
The mastic prepared in this way is perfectly rolled out with an ordinary rolling pin (sugar powder is used instead of flour), absolutely any figures can be fashioned out of it: flowers and leaves, fairy-tale characters and animals, in general, all that is enough for imagination. As for the cake itself, which will be hidden under a layer of mastic, it can be anything. To keep the decoration well, it is desirable that between it and the cake was a layer of cream.

In addition to the classic recipe for preparing material for decoration, there are others, for example, chocolate mastic for the cake with your own hands is also done easily. For 1 bar of dark chocolate, take a packet of marshmallows, 1/4 cup of fat cream, a couple of spoons of cognac and powdered sugar. Naturally, itβs not worth decorating a children's cake with such mastic. All ingredients (except powder) are mixed by heating in a water bath. Then gradually pour the powder, kneading the mass, as in the previous case. Brown mastic perfectly turns out an adornment for chocolate cakes, as well as a wood-like composition (barrels, decks, hemp).
