What the rash on the skin of a child tells

There are many diseases, one of the first signs of which is a rash. It should be remembered that the types of skin rashes are different for different diseases. And you can guess the reason right away. However, the final diagnosis is always made only by the doctor. We will name a few diseases that are characterized by a rash. They are found most often, so they can be considered the main ones.

Scarlet fever

This is the most common childhood infectious disease. Infection, as a rule, occurs by airborne droplets. A child gets infected through things that he takes in his mouth: toys, spoons, cups and the like, at first glance, trifles can be such. A typical age at which you can become infected with scarlet fever is 2-6 years. The onset of the disease is particularly acute. The temperature rises, general weakness, red rashes on the skin, difficulty in swallowing are observed. The rash first appears on the neck, then on the upper body, then reaches the face and limbs. It is usually dotted, the center of the pimple is colored brighter, and when pressed on the skin, a white spot forms . Most often, a white nasolabial triangle is distinguished in a patient with scarlet fever, which cannot be overlooked against the background of red cheeks and forehead. With these symptoms, you should immediately consult a doctor, and at home you should give your child more fluid.

Prickly heat

A rash on the skin of a child can be an elementary prickly heat, which outwardly resembles the lightened form of scarlet fever at the beginning of its development. But with this disease, the rash spreads to the body in those places where sweating is most active.

Prevention of prickly heat can serve as air baths. The child should not be wrapped to avoid overheating. The neck and folds need to be treated with baby oil.

Measles

The child becomes infected by airborne droplets. The causative agent of the disease is able to travel long distances, so those who visit the patient should always be on their guard. It all starts with fever, runny nose, coughing and sneezing. Photophobia and lacrimation are also inherent. With measles, rashes cover the ears, face, upper chest and neck. The nasolabial triangle is also prone to rash. On the second day, the rash is already observed on the whole body, and on the third day the limbs are covered with it. Initially, a baby's skin rash is represented by a pink tubercle with a red border. Gradually, all the tubercles merge into one large spot.

types of skin rashes

Rubella

In addition to the rash, it can be characterized by the presence of symptoms such as pain and swelling in the lymph nodes. Within a few hours, a rubella rash can spread practically throughout the body, especially quickly on the buttocks and back. The spots are distinguished by the fact that they are large and sometimes reach the same size as lentil grains. The rash on the skin of a child is accompanied by an increase in temperature, but at the same time, his health practically does not change. Rubella treatment is not necessary. It is dangerous only for pregnant women.

Chickenpox

It is characterized by an airborne droplet infection, an instant rise in temperature, severe headache and sometimes vomiting. Then a smallpox-like rash appears that spreads throughout the body, including the mucous membranes of the mouth, eyelids, and genitals. The rash on the skin of a child initially has the appearance of tubercles of a pale red color, which soon become blisters. The size of the bubbles can be different: from a point to a pea. If you pierce a bubble, liquid will flow out of it. When treating chickenpox, it is important to maintain clean skin, treat pimples with brilliant green or Fukortsin. In addition, remember: the stronger the child’s immunity, the easier it will be for chickenpox.

However, the course of any infectious disease will be easier with good immunity. The risk of complications also decreases. Therefore, always strive to maintain natural protection in the body of your baby: both before the disease, and during it, and after. And be healthy.
