Karen Gurgenovich was born on July 1, 1937 in Yerevan in the family of the director, actor of theater and cinema, people's artist of the USSR Gurgen Janibekyan. Surrounded by creative people since childhood, Karen grew up as a restless and, as they say, a hyperactive boy. Father often took him to his theater, and the stage became a second home for young Janibekyan.

Energy was raging in Karen, and because of this, he could not decide on the choice of a profession for a long time. While his peers were applying to universities, Karen Janibekyan spent time with a fun company of friends, girls, and often got into trouble. Finally, gaining intelligence, Janibekyan Jr. entered Yerevan Theater and Art Institute.

She brought the finished script entitled “There is Life in the Mountains” to Armenia and was looking for the main performer for the role of father. Karen Gurgenovich externally and internally was very suitable for this role and with bated breath she expressed him her proposal. The actor decided not to refuse and encouraged the woman, and after reading the script, he realized that it was written about him. So two creative people met.

Liana Antaryan became his last guardian angel. The actor woke up his former energy, in a short time they created a new theater and opened a fund in honor of father Karen Gurgenovich.
