Pills for cystitis - the wrong choice is fraught with complications

Cystitis is a common disease. Men are sick less often than women, this is due to differences in anatomy. According to Russian statistics, up to 40% of the population has visited this disease at least once. There are many reasons that cause it, and pills for cystitis are prescribed different. We will not consider special cases associated with other serious diseases or their treatment (radiation therapy of the pelvic organs, for example, in 90% of cases causes cystitis). Let us dwell on the most common form - bacterial cystitis.

It is usually caused by the ingestion of Escherichia coli into the urinary tract, less commonly staphylococci, and other infections are extremely rare. Accordingly, cystitis tablets are prescribed , to which these bacteria are sensitive.

The main mistake in self-treatment is usually taking weak or outdated drugs, for example 5-NOC, nitroxoline. The bacteria that cause cystitis are already insensitive to them. The use of such drugs often leads to the transition of the disease from acute to chronic.

In the acute form, local treatment will also not be effective, for example, with instillations of the bladder - this is an additional trauma to the walls, and can lead to complications. Also, treatment with herbs, fees and other folk remedies is ineffective, this will only complicate further treatment and extend its time.

I would also like to warn against too โ€œcomplicatedโ€ treatment methods with expensive procedures (not verified by anyone), drugs and bioadditives. In practice, it turns out the same pills for cystitis (antibiotics), only much more expensive.

Hospitalization is rarely required for treatment; treatment is carried out at home. The mucous wall of the bladder recovers quite quickly, and the symptoms disappear without a trace. But this most often happens when the doctor prescribes drugs for the treatment of cystitis. Of course, if you addressed him in a timely manner. If the causes of cystitis are not correctly determined, the medicine may be ineffective, and the disease will turn into a chronic form.

Cystitis is usually accompanied by severe pain and discomfort in the lower abdomen. To relieve the condition (not for treatment), antispasmodics are used, for example papaverine or atropine. Itโ€™s better not to take risks with a heating pad, because heat, although it makes urination easier, promotes the growth of bacteria, which, in fact, need to be eliminated. Heat also increases bleeding, so if there is a suspicion of blood in the urine, a heating pad is absolutely contraindicated.

All actually treating tablets for cystitis are antibiotics that are taken either once, or in a course of 3 to 7 days. Once you can take monural (3 grams), courses of 3 days and 7 days take fluoroquinolones. Which course is recommended is indicated in the instructions for a specific drug. For example, three-day courses take levofloxacin (1 time per day), norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin (2 times a day). The same medicine, depending on the dosage, can be used in different courses.

If you catch cystitis, you will have to adhere to a diet for some time: exclude alcohol and coffee, spicy, sour, fatty and fried, as well as carbonated drinks. It is better to prefer a milk diet and plant foods. A diet is necessary so that the walls of the bladder are irritated as little as possible, and unpleasant symptoms pass quickly. Until the disappearance of painful manifestations, one should adhere to bed rest, this helps to relax the walls and facilitate urination.

The treatment of chronic cystitis is almost identical to the treatment of acute, but is complemented by attention to the underlying disease that caused cystitis. After the main treatment, it may be useful for a month or two to drink light herbal preparations, the same kanefron (but not instead of treatment).
