Superman's father (Russell Crowe) with his mother, anticipating the disastrous outcome of the battle in an attempt to save the child, send him in a capsule to Earth. After the baby lands, the future adoptive parents (mother - Diane Lane, father - Kevin Costner) find who, being the first to discover his supernormal abilities, teach the youngster to hide them from other ordinary mortals. However, the boy’s nature takes its toll, the more evil general, as if Phoenix was reborn from the ashes, is sent to Earth, with the firm intention to do the same with the blue planet as he did with Krypton. As it becomes clear, the film “Man of Steel”, the actors and roles, the origins of history and its continuation are not entirely new, they are already familiar to the viewer.
New Sacred Details
In addition to some new moments in the traditional history of Superman, the creators introduce some sacred meanings into the project. The familiar series of the picture “Man of Steel” (release date does not count) begins with the familiar letter S, which does not just show off on the character’s costume, it means “Hope”. And Clark's age is 33 years, which is not a direct reference to the main history of mankind. And these are not the most entertaining and not the only details. Literally manic passion for movie creators with flashbacks can at first confuse an inexperienced viewer, but as a result, they are so cleverly folded into a clear and understandable picture that you are simply amazed. Immediately it becomes clear the duality of the nature of the protagonist, its soreness for Clark. And she adds “oil to the fire” to the theory of the superhero as a demigod, or rather, as a god-man. The viewer seems to have a veil falling from his eyes, and the fundamental difference between Superman and other various superheroes becomes extremely clear. He is not an ordinary citizen, dressed in a suit to fight evil, he is an alien creature, albeit educated by people, but endowed with superpowers.
Between the lines
The actors of the film “Man of Steel” are all without exception world-famous cinema stars: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner and Antje Traue, so their play is highly praised. Although in fairness it is worth noting that at times the particularly expressionless face of G. Cavill sometimes forced the creators of the film project to pronounce (including through the lips of the protagonist) his inner experiences, mental torment. And sometimes to give all the emotionally rich scenes at the mercy of other artists. The performer of the astute journalist Lois Lane, cutie Amy Adams, was responsible for the intriguing love line. And the villain-general Zod , performed by Michael Shannon, appeared with his light hand in front of the audience as a real terrorist, but with a fine mental organization. Nolan’s masterful hand is literally felt: Krypton’s thoughtful and verified to the smallest detail bizarre landscapes, spaceships, plowing the universe briskly, epic battles. And some “lame” plot details from life on Earth of Cala-El are simply lost behind a discouraging demonstration of his superpowers: levitation, superpower, etc. Although, unlike the sensational Batman trilogy, the film does not open up new horizons and is considered by some critics to be just “popcorn entertainment,” it is made so thoroughly and soundly that it’s hard to imagine a better restart of the Superman story. Due to the fact that the film "Man of Steel", actors and roles, including, collected and developed creatively all the accepted and unthinkable movie cliches about this superhero, the brand received a second wind.
