"Zalain cream" is an antifungal drug and is intended for topical use. The main active ingredient in this drug is sertaconazole. Zalain Cream is effective against many yeasts and fungi. Sertaconazole has two types of effects relative to yeast and fungi, due to its structure. In the molecule of this substance there is an azole ring, which inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, namely it is the main component of the cell membrane of fungi. Therefore, they lose the ability to reproduce. The molecule also contains benzothiophene, which helps perforate the cell membrane of fungi, which leads to its death. Due to this, Zalain Cream has a strong fungicidal and fungistatic effect. The drug is effective for infection with fungi such as Candida tropicalis, Candida albicans, Pityrosporum orbicular. It also adversely affects dermatophytes, microorganisms that cause infectious diseases of the skin, mucous membranes. If the cream "Zalain" is applied topically, then sertaconazole is not absorbed into the general bloodstream.
Indications for use of the drug
The cream is used in the presence of skin mycoses, which are caused by microorganisms sensitive to sertaconazole, and this:
- epidermophytosis of the feet and lower legs;
- the presence of inguinal dermatophytosis;
- manifestations of dermatomycosis of the hands and smooth skin;
- with the appearance of pityriasis versicolor and candidal infections of the skin;
- the presence of trichophytosis of the skin of the face.
If there is an infection in the vagina, vaginal suppositories are used.
"Zalain cream": instructions for use
The cream is applied once or twice a day until the symptoms disappear completely. To avoid relapses, it is necessary to continue treatment for another two weeks after the clinical manifestations of the disease disappear. The cream is applied not only to the damaged area of the skin, but also around it. The duration of treatment depends on the degree of the disease, and it is necessary to start treatment with this drug when the first signs of the disease appear.
If there is a need to use vaginal suppositories, then they are administered once a day, and it is better to do this at night. For a greater effect, suppositories should be introduced to the maximum depth, the presence of menstruation does not lead to the cessation of the use of the drug. In most cases, one suppository is enough for a complete recovery, but with a relapse, it is worth using this remedy again after a week.
With the introduction of these candles, you must refrain from using soap with acidic kN. Also, for greater effect in the perineum and vulva, it is recommended to use "Zalain cream". During the use of the drug, sexual intercourse is prohibited. It is advisable to conduct simultaneous treatment of both partners.
