Today, dozens of helminthiases affecting humans are common. It is because of this prevalence of diseases that much attention is paid to the breadth of the spectrum of exposure to anthelmintic.
For the treatment of helminthiases in modern medicine, special compounds are used - anthelmintic drugs for humans.
The appointment of an anthelmintic medication is made taking into account the specifics of its activity and tolerance by the patient.
Modern anthelmintic drugs for humans are active during all stages of the development of parasites. Their task is not only to destroy pathogens, but also to eliminate the effects of parasites in the body.
Anthelmintic action is characteristic of a number of synthetic and natural substances. For a fairly long time, anthelmintic agents were plant substances, such as fern (male) extract, henopodia oil, citrus wormwood and others. Today, synthetic anthelmintic preparations for humans are often used. It should be noted that most of them are safer than those previously used. Modern anthelmintic drugs for humans are divided into groups corresponding to the predominant effect on various classes of parasites. So, they distinguish anti-nematodosis, anti-cestodose, anti-trematidoid medications. At the same time, some anthelmintic agents are very effective while simultaneously fighting various parasitic groups. There is a group of anthelmintic drugs that affect the development of extraintestinal parasites. These include chloxyl, ditrazine and other medicines. Different groups of compounds are distinguished depending on the chemical structure of synthetic anti-worm medicines. Here, it is necessary to distinguish ethanolamine derivatives (diphesyl, naphthamone and others), benzimidazole derivatives (medamine, mebendazole and others), salicylamide (phenasal), imidazothiazole (levamisole), and piperazine salts. Relatively recently, a new class of high-performance anthelmintic medicines has been discovered - pyrazinoisoquinoline derivatives.
Today, various anthelmintic drugs are available. For children, the treatment is often used nourishment. This medication has a wide range of effects, low toxicity and high efficacy. The drug is available both in tablet form and in the form of syrup.
As a rule, treatment of childhood helminthiasis is carried out in three stages.
The first stage involves the use of antihistamines and enterosorbents for three to five days before taking an anthelmintic drug.
When using feed on the first day of therapy, the dosage is half a single dose. From the second and fifth days, the medication is taken in a full children's dose. In this case, the administration of an anthelmintic drug is combined with the use of antihistamines and enterosorbents. In the case of enterobiosis, the child is prescribed the full dose from the first day of therapy.
For five days after completion of therapy with Vormil, enterosorbents and antihistamines are continued . Probiotics may be attached to the therapeutic regimen. Their intake can last from two to three weeks.
In the treatment of helminthiasis, anthelmintic drugs must be used by all family members. Only in this case the effect of treatment is guaranteed. In addition, before the start of the therapeutic course, it is necessary to perform wet cleaning, change clothes. During treatment, hygiene rules should be carefully observed and ironed with a hot iron.
