Since 2006, all episodes of The King of Shamans have been broadcast on Russian screens. The animated series earned the unconditional love of the audience not only for its excellent drawing and interesting plot, but also thanks to the excellent voice actors.
Plot
Every 500 years, a shaman tournament is held to select the king. He unites with the most powerful spirit and becomes able to control all life on earth.
The first episode of the animated series “The King of Shamans” begins with the appearance of the Star of Fate. She sweeps through the evening sky, announcing the start of a new tournament. The protagonist Yo Asakura unites talented friends around him, and together they go on an adventure. They will have to go through many trials and learn a lot before defeating the main villain - Hao, who for the third time is trying to win, each time being reborn stronger, more powerful and merciless.
This time, Hao chose the Asakura family, so only Yo as his twin brother can defeat him, but for this he needs to unite with the spirit of the great ancient warrior Amidamaru.
In the animated series "The King of Shamans," Nikita Prozorovsky became the actor who voiced the voice of Anidamaru, as well as Trey and Rio . A true professional in this field, he has accounted for 989 paintings! The very first was “The Wizard of Oz” in 1939, where he voiced Uncle Charlie (of course, in Russia the picture came out much later, in the 2000s), and the last - “Geostorm” in 2017, in which he is responsible for the role of Richard Schiff. He also starred in 40 films and television series, such as Bodyguard 3, Teacher in Law, Homeless Woman, First Squad, and Other Person.
Yo asakura
The strongest shaman, but at the same time a simple and simple-minded guy. More than anything, he loves to eat and sleep, most of the jokes in the animated series are based precisely on these of his qualities. It is difficult to piss him off unless, of course, offending his friends. In season 1 of the “King of Shamans,” the ancient spirit of Anidamaru becomes his guardian. At the same time, he meets his first best friends: the ordinary man Morty (in the Japanese original version - Mantoux), as well as the shamans Rio, Lena and Horo (aka Trey Racer).
For the voice of Yo in the Russian version, the actor Sergei Bystritsky answered in the animated series "The King of Shamans". He starred in 40 films and voiced more than 190 roles, for example, in 2017, the character of Dean Winters in the film "Very Bad Girls."
Morty Manta
Mortimer is an ordinary boy without the abilities of a shaman who believed in the existence of spirits and became the first friend of Yo Asakura. Despite the fact that he is the weakest and smallest among all, Morty shows an unprecedented fortitude, is infinitely loyal to his friends and even ready to sacrifice his life for them.
Actor Alexander Komlev took on the scoring of this character in the animated series "King of Shamans". He began his career with small roles in "Jumble", then there were "Bridge", "Frenchman", and in 2008 the series "Moscow smiles", after which he finally went into dubbing. He has accounted for more than 230 various films, cartoons and series.
Ryunosuke Ummiya
In the Russian translation of this character, they simply called Rio, so that the audience, especially the small ones, would be easier to remember. In the first episode, he appears as a villain, the leader of the Cornered Gang, trying to attack Yo and is defeated. Seeing Anidamaru and the power that he gives, Rio decides to become a shaman at all costs, and asks to be a disciple of Yo.
He becomes a true friend and completely changes his view of the world, he is no longer attracted to bad deeds. The most ridiculous situations are connected with his unsuccessful attempts to find a soul mate and make her his queen.
Faust and Eliza
A sad story about eternal love. For the first time, Faust appears as a cruel anti-hero, even whose appearance evokes horror: pale with blue circles under his eyes, he looks more like a spirit, not a person. Faust is trying to destroy everything in its path to the title of king of shamans. All he can think about is the revival of his beloved Eliza, who died quite young from an unknown illness.
Yo’s kindness and patience helps Faust remember humanity and let go of his anger. Unfortunately, even towards the end of the series, there is no hope of Eliza’s rebirth.
Len Tao
To compete in the tragedy of fate with Faust and Eliza, Len Tao may well. His family is cruel and merciless, ready to destroy him if Len does not live up to expectations. He is raised as the future king of shamans and is not allowed to think about anything else.
Like most other heroes, Len comes to Yo with evil intentions and darkness in his heart, but gradually changes and even confronts his family and his inner demons.
In the Japanese version of the anime, he has a full-fledged family: father, mother and sister, but he does not have an American father, but there is an evil uncle, so huge that he does not believe in the reality of his existence. In the end, when Len prevails over him, uncle turns into an ordinary lonely person, left alone with his hatred.

“Just be in the Shadow”
Not so long ago, a video appeared on the Web about how the story of the animated series "King of Shamans" would have looked in reality. The dubbing actors are the same as in the original version: Alexander Komlev and Elena Chebaturkina.
In this video, Yo finds himself in ordinary Russian places: in the subway, a dirty porch, next to broken mailboxes, he even drinks kefir in the kitchen. At this time, the actors sing that "choice is not important" and "gray is familiar to the eyes." In the end, they ask why they should sing it at all and stop to become “ordinary dudes”.
Despite the unusual nature of such an interpretation, the original video is much better, because you need to believe in miracles, regardless of age and living conditions. The “King of Shamans” teaches friendship, loyalty and kindness, and beautiful bright art helps to better understand all this. This animated series must be shown to children.
This anime has two versions - American and Japanese. In the first, almost all the heroes do not have a surname and bloody scenes are cut out, and also some names and replicas of the heroes are changed. Even some elements of the characters suffered from censorship, for example, a combat pistol was replaced by a children's toy.
