For several decades, the Cinema House has been a prestigious club of professionals, the Union of Cinematographers has settled here.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the great screenwriter and director Eisenstein proposed creating a club that would become the center of Soviet cinematography. Only in 1934 an old mansion on Vasilievskaya was allocated for these purposes. In the future, the House of Cinema changed its location several times . Moscow allocated a place for him in the Studio Theater of the film actor, in the hotel.
Finally, in 1968, it was decided to place a “cinema club” in the building, which was created by the architect Stamo. In Soviet times, premieres of films were shown here, exhibitions of photographs and theatrical performances were held. A lot of people could visit the Cinema House at a time. The address in Moscow became permanent: 13 Vasilyevskaya, not far from the Garden Ring. The audience hall was huge, it was designed for 1100 seats.

Thanks to the Interform form, the NIKI Museum was created in the video hall, which now receives visitors.
Previously, the Cinema House was not open to a wide audience. Now modern halls are open to ordinary viewers who can get here by invitation. The repertoire of the cinema is huge. Hollywood news and the best European films are shown here, and, of course, the premieres of domestic films are held.
Cinema House has a conference room where they hold a variety of conferences, book presentations, ceremonies.
