The sausage variety in Germany is almost as great as the cheese in France, and therefore an inexperienced buyer can get confused. What sausages are especially popular in Germany and what they eat with?
Paradise for lovers of sausages
Not a single German holiday can do without sausages and sausages. Well, what is there, perhaps, not even a single breakfast in any German family can do without it. Tea sausage for breakfast, a sandwich for dinner, grill on weekends.
Sausages in Germany have a great variety and abundance: from pork, beef, various types of poultry, from mixed minced meat, sausages, ready to eat and requiring cooking or grilling. Cocktail sausages, cheese sausages, soy sausages - everyone will find something to their liking.
German sausages in banks
Amidst all this sausage variety, it's hard enough to get lost. Very often in Germany you can find sausages in banks. This is one of the most common containers for sale and storage. Cans can be canned or glass, the contents do not change, as a rule, Viennese sausages (Wiener würstchen) are sealed inside - a sausage made from a mixture of ground beef and pork.
Such sausages are a favorite treat of all German children, very often they are given for breakfast in the garden or school. Vienna sausages can be standard long, and can be in mini-format - for children or parties. Such sausages are very convenient to use for serving canapes.
Sausages in a jar are usually stored in a special solution, where they do not dry, do not lose their taste and do not deteriorate. I must say that the shelf life of such products is quite long - 6-7 months
Grill sausages
Such sausages are usually sold in vacuum packaging. They can also be bought by weight in a butcher shop. Unlike ready-to-eat sausages in jars, which are usually light brown in color, raw sausages for the grill look completely unattractive - they are either white or have the appearance of dark minced meat in a transparent "gut".
Such sausage must be fried before use on the grill, in the oven or, in extreme cases, in a frying pan. Grill sausages are usually served with hot curry sauce.
Such sausages have a limited shelf life of about 1 week and should be stored in the refrigerator.

In order not to be disappointed when buying sausages in Germany, you should at least know a little German.

Now on the shelves of Russian supermarkets you can find sausages in banks made in Germany, most often in giants such as Metro or Auchan. Unfortunately, because of their limited shelf life, grilled sausages simply do not reach the Russian consumer, but many stores offer good Russian-made counterparts.
