"Hemomycin": instructions for use and analogues

“Hemomycin” is a medicine from a number of azalide antibiotics. It has a bright bacteriostatic effect. Instructions for use with Hemomycin will be presented in this article.

Structure

The active substance of the drug is azithromycin. When an infectious pathogen enters the cell, it acts bacteriostatically and at the same time inhibits protein synthesis, inhibiting the development and growth of the pathogen. If the dosage is increased, then a bactericidal effect is produced. Particularly sensitive to it are bacteria such as:

chemomycin instructions for use
  • gram-positive streptococci with susceptibility to erythromycin, including pyogenic strains, pneumococci, Staphylococcus aureus (especially a frequent source of nosocomial persistent infections) and Staphylococcus epidermidis;
  • anaerobic peptostreptococci, clostridia and bacteroids;
  • gram-negative causative agents of whooping cough, gardnerellosis, Haemophilus ducreyi and influenzae, gonorrhea, Legionella pneumophila, which affects the lower parts of the respiratory system and causes severe pulmonary inflammation, hemophilic bacillus;
  • atypical myco- and ureaplasmas inside the cell, pale treponema (causes syphilis), mycobacteria and chlamydia.

How is it absorbed?

It should be noted that microorganisms resistant to erythromycin are also resistant to azalides. From the digestive tract, azithromycin is very quickly absorbed, and its bioavailability is 40%. The connection with plasma proteins is insignificant; it accumulates mainly in the lysosomes of the respiratory organs and urinary system, in the skin and soft tissues. This explains its therapeutic effect in the treatment of infections that are provoked by pathogens inside the cell.

Accumulating in high concentrations in infectious foci, the drug is subsequently released over a long time period, which allows it to be taken in short courses at intervals of one day between doses. The drug is metabolized in the liver cells to inactive compounds and then excreted along with feces and urine.

Release form

According to the instructions for use, “Hemomycin” produces and owns the registration certificate of the pharmaceutical concern from Serbia “Hemofarm A.D.” It is currently available in several dosage forms that allow the use of an antibiotic in the treatment of patients of a particular age category:

  • Capsules, auxiliary components of which are lactose, corn starch, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate and gelatin shell substances, are packed in boxes of six.
  • Film-coated tablets containing an antibiotic in the form of a trihydrate (500 mg), the formative compounds of which are ordinary and silicate MCC, sodium carboxymethyl starch, anhydrous silicon dioxide, talc and povidone, are packed in a pack and a blister of three pieces. This is confirmed by the instructions for use. Chemomycin for children is also often prescribed.
  • The powder on the basis of which the suspension is made. This dosage form may include one or two hundred milligrams of the active ingredient in five milliliters of the finished product. It contains fragrances and sweeteners, is packed in glass bottles, the set also has a spoon, thanks to which it is convenient for the child to give the drug in accordance with its weight. Instructions for use with the suspension "Hemomycin" are very detailed.
  • 500 mg of lyophilisate in vials is a substance for the manufacture of a solution, which is used intravenously and parenterally under stationary conditions.

  • "Azivok";
  • "Znitob";
  • Azitroks
  • Sumazid
  • "Ekolab";
  • "Sumatrolide solutab";
  • "Azithromycin";
  • Sumaclide;

  • "Zitrolide";
  • "Azicide";
  • "Zitrocin";
  • "Sumamed";
  • "Chick-nob".

Hemomycin or Sumamed?

Chemomycin and Sumamed are synonymous. They contain the same active substance - azithromycin. The choice most often depends only on the cost - Sumamed is more expensive than Hemomycin. But individual sensitivity and tolerance are also evaluated. Both medicines are much more effective than the cheaper generics that flooded the market. First, not only the original formula of the active substance is used, but also a special shell that will allow you to deliver the drug to the right place at the right time. In addition, the purification of branded drugs is carried out more qualitatively, unlike the means that are made by pharmaceutical companies according to the patent. So, “Hemomycin” and “Sumamed” are much more effective in terms of their effect and are much better tolerated compared to cheaper drugs.

Pharmacological effect

In accordance with the instructions for use, “Chemomycin” is one of the antibiotics with a wide spectrum of influence. The active substance of the drug is among the azalides - that is, macrolide antibiotics that have a bactericidal effect in high concentrations.

"Chemomycin" is active against microorganisms within the cell (Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Borrelia burgdorferi) and Treponema pallidum. This tool fights gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacteria, anaerobic organisms. Hemomycin and its analogues are resistant to gram-positive bacteria that are resistant to erythromycin.

Contraindications

The drug and its analogues cannot be used:

  • with renal and liver failure;
  • with excessive sensitivity to the macrolide group of antibiotics;
  • in children under six months of age (the use of a suspension is allowed from 6 months of age as prescribed by the doctor, the dosage depends on the weight of the child);

  • pregnancy
  • arrhythmias.

Care must be taken when using the product or its analogues in small patients with severe defects in the functioning of the liver or kidneys.

So it is said in the instructions for use for "Chemomycin" 200 mg. The method of application and dosage regimen is indicated below.

In accordance with the instructions, the drug is taken orally. As a rule, the medicine is used an hour before meals once a day or two hours after reducing the absorption of azithromycin while using it with food.

This tool is prescribed for adults and children from twelve years of age with infectious pathologies of the upper and lower respiratory tract, one tablet or two capsules per day for three days.

If there are infections of the skin and soft tissues, or Lyme disease is diagnosed at the initial stage, two tablets or four capsules are prescribed on the first day, and then the dosage is halved. This will be confirmed by the instructions for use with Hemomycin tablets. In adults and children, the duration of admission is five days. If the patient suffers from urethritis or cervicitis without complications, then the dosage in accordance with the instructions is equal to two tablets or four capsules once.

What else suggests the appointment of “Hemomycin” for adults? Instructions for use describe recommendations for drug interactions.

An overdose of "chemomycin"

Signs of excess dosage "Chemomycin", according to reviews, are manifested by vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, temporary hearing loss. In this case, it is necessary to rinse the stomach and conduct symptomatic treatment.

Drug interaction

If the medication is used simultaneously with antacids, then azithromycin is absorbed more slowly. The combined use of this drug with digoxin enhances the degree of concentration of the latter. The toxic effects of ergotamine and dihydroergotamine are enhanced when combined with azithromycin. An increase in the effectiveness of the drug “Chemomycin” is observed with the use of tetracycline and chloramphenicol, and a decrease due to lincosamines.

Alcohol Compatibility

It is not recommended to combine antibiotic treatment and the use of alcoholic beverages in any case, which does not depend on the pharmacokinetics and other characteristics of a particular drug. You can not drink alcohol simultaneously with azithromycin for two reasons:

  • the antibiotic metabolism is carried out in the liver, while ethanol produces an additional load on this organ and contributes to the extensive destruction of hepatocytes and the occurrence of complications;
  • the combination of alcohol and “Chemomycin” weakens the therapeutic effect of the drug: alcohol, along with food, significantly slows down the absorption of azithromycin by the body and its absorption.

In addition, it is forbidden to drink alcohol and use antibiotics after it for several days, because the medicine accumulates in the body and fights the infection. We reviewed the instructions for use for Hemomycin suspension for children and tablets for adults.
