Most often, when pronouncing the diagnosis “heart aorta is compacted”, we mean the patient has atherosclerosis, age-related changes in blood vessels or hypertension. But recently, a similar diagnosis sounds not only for the elderly, but also for younger ones. Doctors closely associate this alarming trend with smoking addiction.
The diagnosis of “aortic congestion” - what does it mean?
Before we begin to understand in detail the named disease, it is worth recalling the principle of the human heart. Even people far from medicine, imagine the main function of the heart muscle - pumping blood.
At the same time, the heart consists of two ventricles, from which the arteries depart. From the right is the pulmonary artery through which venous blood enters the lungs. And from the left ventricle, oxygen-rich arterial blood is pushed into the largest artery of our body - the aorta, from where it enters all the organs of the body.
The walls of the aorta along their entire length should ideally have the same thickness and not be compressed anywhere. But with a number of diseases, as well as in the aging process, this condition is violated.
Causes of Aortic Compaction
So, the aorta is condensed - what does it mean? And most often this is the patient’s tendency to periodically increase blood pressure, which, in turn, causes a constant tension of the aortic walls and, as a result, their loss of elasticity over time. Dense fibrous structures appear on the walls of such vessels, which make them more rigid. The wall thickness also changes - they are compacted.
But the same processes occur with age. True, aging, as a rule, affects primarily the inner surface of the walls of the aorta, making them less elastic and compacting them.
These same processes sometimes force muscle cells to move from the middle layer to the inner layer, which is why a compaction gradually develops around them. It leads to the fact that the vessel wall can no longer normally stretch, its fragility occurs, and the inner lumen of the vessel narrows.
What is atherosclerosis
Although the processes that occur in the aorta during atherosclerosis are different from those that can be observed during aging, there is still no definite answer to the question of why atherosclerosis begins to develop.
With this pathology, the walls of the aorta are compacted, that is, empty formations appearing inside it, protruding into the lumen, containing only fats (lipids) - the so-called atherosclerotic plaques.
Who may have atherosclerosis
In some cases, the first signs of these plaques can be detected even in children. True, then the development of the disease will be suspended until old age. This phenomenon occurs in individuals with a hereditary predisposition to seal the walls of the aorta. An important role is played in this by impaired fat metabolism, which ultimately leads to an increase in the level of fat-containing substances in the blood.
If the aorta of the heart is compacted and expanded, this disease is called an aneurysm. It is dangerous because of the possibility of a rupture, which in 75% leads to death. By the way, in men this pathology is observed more often than in women.
Aortic seal dangerously threatened by dissection
It’s not dangerous for life that your aorta is compacted. What does it mean?
Sealing, as a rule, goes unnoticed and is detected only during random examinations. But at the moment when the patient exerts great physical effort or he has a jump in blood pressure, a dangerous stratification can occur at the site of atherosclerotic plaque formation. Here it is a threat to life.
Fortunately, this does not happen very often, but sometimes blood flows between the layers formed in the vessel wall, which as a result leads to its rupture and huge blood loss.
This pathology is only treated surgically, but even timely intervention does not save 90% of those suffering from it from a fatal outcome.
How aortic wall compaction is treated: general medical criteria
If the aorta is compacted, the treatment is primarily to find out the causes of this pathology. This may be hypertension, atherosclerosis, some previously transferred inflammatory diseases (including sexually transmitted diseases). For this, an additional examination of the patient is carried out. And if the cause is found, they are treated first of all.
In the case when other diseases are not detected, the patient is recommended to adhere to a diet, avoid stress and make frequent walks in the air.
Treatment of compaction of the walls of the aorta with folk remedies
If the walls of the aorta are sealed, treatment of this problem can be carried out by alternative means. The most common of these is the use of garlic oil.
For this, the head of garlic needs to be peeled, kneaded and pour a glass of sunflower oil. During the day, this infusion should be periodically mixed, after which, adding the juice of one lemon and mixing again, leave it to settle for a week in a cool place.
The described tool is taken on a teaspoon three times a day 30 minutes before a meal. One course of such treatment lasts three months, after which you need to stop for a month, and then repeat the treatment.
Forewarned is forearmed
We hope that in the future you will not have to find out, with a diagnosis of “aorta compacted,” what this means. Now you will clearly understand what is happening with your main blood vessel, and will try your best to avoid the dire consequences of this. Be healthy!
